I will be heading to the Point from New Jersey on August 24 and 25 with my family. Never been there before. I thought this would be a less crowded time to visit since the hours are less which means less crowds (tell me if you agree or not).
Tips for plan of attack? Also is it true that all the rides except millenium force and top thrill dragster have loose article bins so I won't need a locker for any other rides?
I was thinking of eating at Pink's and Panda Express (I want to eat inside the park.) Any input on that?
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.
Millennium Force and Dragster are the only coasters without bins. Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport do not either, but if your bag is smallish (no prizes or basketballs) you can ride with it. Shoot the Rapids does not allow bags but there are shoe only bins in the station.
As for a plan of attack, Will you be staying on property? Crowds shouldn't be too bad as many Ohio schools start school around the 24th.
Pinks is pretty good. Try not to go around peak lunch and dinner times as service can get pretty backed up as food is cooked to order, but it might not be too bad during that time of year.

Thanks for all of your help! To answer your question, I will be staying at the local Great Wolf Lodge, so I will get to the park when it opens to the public. I plan to stay inside the park completely during both days of my visit. I want to hit all of the coasters (except Woodstock Express and Jr. Gemini) and the better flat rides.
Hopefully this can help you give me a plan of attack.
If you would like to do Maverick, Magnum or Dragster I would use the Resort Gate. You can get to the resort gate by staying to the left at the parking tolls, when you talk to the attendant say your going to the soak city lot. Stay left and follow Perimeter Rd. around the park until you get to the turn off to the left that says Soak City. Once parked, walk under Magnum and you'll see the gate.
I'd suggest hitting Raptor and the front of the park mid/late afternoon.

But if I really want to do Millenium Force, is it worth doing that first thing? Also, does the skyride over the main midway open at park opening? Because then if I used the main gate, I could take the skyride across the main midway and go in a circle around the back of the park to hit Millenium Force, Maverick, Magnum, and Top Thrill Dragster in one loop.
I believe SR does open at rope drop, but it will be way too slow. It always has a line probably 15 minutes long at that time. You will get there much quicker by just walking.
Yeah I would not suggest taking Skyride from the front gate on the morning if you are trying to hit a coaster fast.

If you're ok with putting MF off until evening time, I'd circle the opposite way. Head towards Power Tower, Dragster, Corkscrew and Magnum, then work your way towards Maverick hitting things like Gemini, Mine Ride, Mean Streak and Skyhawk along the way. Maverick's line is pretty consistently around 45-60 minutes most parts of the day. Save MF for dinner time, Raptor for closer to closing time.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I was wondering.. can you park near the resort gate by soak city if you are not staying at a resort or have admission to soak city? i only have admission to CP.
im going this weekend and i would rather not park in the main lot due to it being so crowded.
thanks guys.
Yes. Just stay to the left and tell them you are going to Soak City. They don't check admission or anything. You'll park in the lot across from Gemini.
