Advice for family staying on grounds for first time?

While my wife and I have been to CP dozens of times (and the kids several times), we've never stayed on the grounds. This year, we've decided to spend 3 nights and 4 days at Lighthouse Point.

Any other advice for maximimizing our "FUN" while there? We're considering the following:

1. Arrive Sunday and hang out at the pool and CP beach during the day and get half-price $15 starlight admissions for the evening.

2. Monday-Tuesday in CP and Soak City with 2-day combo passes.

3. Ride MF and Maverick during the early ride time each morning.

4. Eat most meals at the cottage to save costs (Do they offer discounts for guests?)

Are there any other benefits or "don't miss" advice for staying on CP grounds? If it helps, the kids are 16, 15, 11, and 2.

Use your parking ticket from the front gate to get $10 off your check of $20 or more (excluding alcohol and tax) at Breakwater Cafe, Famous Dave's or Bay Harbor.

Of the three, Famous Dave's is my personal favorite, it is a good relative value and you'll never walk away hungry. I eat there a few times every summer even though I work for the company and don't get a discount. The great BBQ is well worth the reasonable prices!

^ - except that you turn that in when you check in to get your $10 refunded as cash. I'd rather have the cash than have to eat somewhere to get my "refund".

Cook at the cabin/cottage. There's a charcoal grill available, like you'd find at a park. We've brought a small gas camp stove before just because it's easier than dealing with charcoal after a long day. A couple packs of hotdogs and buns make great snacks for after the park closes.

Otherwise, it looks like you have it covered. Get the rides you want during ERT and spend the rest of the day doing the other stuff. With a 2-year old, having the cabin near-by will make it easy to get back for naps, its a 1/4 mile walk across the parking lot or there is a shuttle if you find yourself at the front of the park when naptime comes.

Have fun.
