Advice

I am going to be working at Cedar Point this summer for the first time. Any advice you *seasoned pros* could give me would really be appriciated!!!!! Thanks a bunch!

Do your job.. and have fun.. Those are the two best pieces of advice anyone I think can give you..

Be on time for work and don't call off because your hung over or some pure excuse. Good attendence is a plus. Perform your job to your best ability..Try to stay out of drama....and enjoy your summer at Cedar Point!

Hey Erroll - a helpful thing to do, if you haven't already, is to go back and read all of the old threads on this board. Just about every topic that is relevant to a CP employee is covered, and it should give you a lot of ideas.

"Am I still in Cedar Point?"

Follow the rules, be on time, be respectful to your supervisors no matter what, volunteer for any overtime,respect guests, interact with park guests, never call in sick and work hard!

Don't be afraid to open up to people and have fun with them. Have as much fun as you can, because you will meet some people that you will never, ever forget. Every now and then, take time for yourself though, just to relax, as you'll definetely need it. Also, repeating what Haley said here, Don't Call Off for stupid reasons!!!!! Your crew needs you there.

Another Pice of advice don't hang around Rebekah, she'll expect you eat her fingers because they taste like french fries!!! Just Kidding she's a great person.
My advice is make new friends these people are going to be your family for the next six months!!! At the end of the season you'll find out how much you are going to miss these people. Most of my friends last season were closer than my own family!!! Love ya all!!!

Lately.. you'd be surprised.. Things have kinda clamped down..

And yeah.. you could say I know alot about Louie's..

.. and you'd probably be real surprised as to who shows up at Louie's as the season goes on.

They have been "clamping down" at Louie's since the early 90's. It comes and goes in waves.

Are you supposed to be 21 to be in there? I know its a bar but the bars around here only require you to be 18 to get in.

No you can be 18 and go to louies. 2001 louies was under fire alot with the cops. Well a few times I went they where there. I woundt take chances i know a few that have and lucky for them, nothing happon but then thats my opinion.

I dont think they really have been. I think it is just a rumor to scare people. Any one who looks 18 or older and really wants to get in can. But its not the best place to hang out I found that out the hard way. No fun no fun at all when you almost die!! I was a youngin and hung out with youngins the cops never came for us they always were there for the crazy foreigner or the random drunk fights! And wow there were alot of those!! Oh well! But who cares! Cedar Point is way cooler then Louies!! Theres a trillion other things to do!! I cant wait !! Eeeek!!! Fun fun fun!

Well I, for one, remember the 2001 raids Kelly as I was sitting out on the patio with Rich from the Garter when they came in.

5 cars worth.. They carded us.. and left us alone.. However.. several peopel were arrested. I talked to Louie the next night. He was UN-THRILLED with the fines he recieved and there were several peopel who worked for Louie part time that never did again.

Point is.. if you're 18 or older and want to go hang out.. fine.. go.. dance.. hang out.. if you're under 21.. don't drink.. it IS a law you know.
