I find the shared marketing a little disconcerting. I was driving home from work on what's left of eastbound 96 and saw an add with cedar point styled font and snoopy, and then on a closer look realized it was for Michigan's Adventure. Also, the 75/17 add is just stupid. It says in small letters 75rides/17coasters, but really, there's a better way to get across the message that there's a lot to see at CP.
I'm still hung up on the Amazement Park and Summertime Blues adds, which were great and conveyed a real emotional connection to the viewer. Those ads did a great job of making me want to have a taste of summer at the point, rather than make me just shrug.

I missed most of the RipCord/SkyScraper discussion because of work, but why wouldn't they want to market an area of the park that makes them a lot more money? Of course the Challenge Park attractions aren't going to bring people in from miles around, but the more people see RipCord or SkyScraper signs inside the park, the more interest gets generated, and the more money Cedar Point could possibly make. You have no idea how many people a day walk by SkyScraper and say that they either didn't know it was here or didn't know what it was.
And to address the question about downtime because of no riders, its ludicrous. We have days where we go for over an hour at a time with no riders period on either ride. I just think with a little more effort, Cedar Point could make a lot more money off these rides. One triple flight costs more than a single day ticket to the park, so why wouldn't they try to exploit that? One could say the prices are too high (and I agree), which was partly solved by the buy-one-get-one-free deal at SkyScraper, but the pricing at RipCord is just overblown. Look at any other Skycoaster operating in a major park, and the prices are some of the most expensive out there.
So after seeing one of the 75rides/17coasters signs I'm trying to understand how you missed the giant red letters that say rides and coasters? The words are VERY obvious.
