Hey you spell it your wall I'll spell it my way lol. Here is what it boils down to. The Intiman company designed a coaster that someone actually fell out of. To make it look like they tried to fix the problem all they did was shorten the belt length. Sounds like a law suit to me. All I'm trying to say is there are other companies that designs coasters. I just wished Arrow Dynamics Inc (the guys that made the Magnum) would design Cedar Point's next biggest coaster so I and many other people could fit in it.
The Magnum is just as intense as the MF which is crazy because its about 100 feet shorter. Just imagine what the Magnum would be like if it was 300 feet tall lol.
Hey lets stir things up make something happen.
Yeah I wasn't trying to be sarcastic the Magnum is a very sweet ride. I would like to see a larger version of the Magnum tho. It would be nice to have a new ride at Cedar Point that the majority of folks could ride and not have to worry about a stupid tightening rule.
Don't get me wrong I do like Cedar Point but Cedar Point is the only park I have ever heard of that has to put test seats out so people can see if they are going to fit or not.
I don't remember seeing any test seats infront of the Magnum's entrance. I guess the Magnum was engineered better.
Yeah man, totally. Raptor doesn't have a test seat either, so I guess that ride's of the "POS" list, too.
You're an idiot. Every park I've ever been to has test seats.
There are test seats at most amusement parks in the country. The test seats are there to save yourself from embarassment and from having to wait in line just to find out you can't ride.
While it upsets me personally that I can't ride Wicked Twister or Millenium, I'm not here bitching about it.
Cedar Point has test seats at the entrance of Raptor, Wicked Twister, Millenium and TTD along with Maxair. I can't remember whether Skyhawk does or doesn't have one.
Cedar Point MUST follow the manufacturer's specifications or jeopordize a huge lawsuit if something happens. Not to mention a fine from the state.
Your comment about just having the company that built Magnum build a bigger ride just so it will have bigger seatbelts and you'll be able to ride is meaningless because there is no guarantee that they won't have different requirements for that ride (such as shorter seatbelts).
Have a good one everybody. Thanks for keeping this site interesting and fun to read.
There wasn't test seats out in front of Jr Gemini, so it must have been made better than MF.
Oh wait, it's an Intamin too.
I guess if you really wanted to, you could climb up to the storage track of DT and test out the sleds. But otherwise, yet another Intamin at the Point without a test seat.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

That was rude.
Not looking so rude anymore, am I? Everyone who's read this topic knows the guy is an idiot.

Hey all I'm trying to say is someone with a 40 inch waist should be able to ride a coaster without worring if they are going to fit or not. A 40 inch waist isn't that uncommon.
I'm just ticked off because I can't fit in two of the biggest rides at CP. Thats why I'm not going this year.
One year I can ride the next year I can't cause they shorten the belts just doen't make any sense to me.
I just don't think the design challenge is that great to build a coster that slightly larger people could fit in.
Yeah man I need too. Just got a new job packed on some weight. Just haven't gotten into a good workout groove yet.
I was there this past weekend and they seemed to be buckling everyones seat for them if they hadnt done it yet when they came around to check the restraints....going at a rapid pace at that!
I couldnt do it myself because of the bad positioning of the female end, they told me to stop and let them do it, i helped pull, they clicked it and didnt even ask me to pull the 1/2 inch, even though i did it after they left
I could do Dragster all by myself.
I finally got my first rollback, first train out Monday Morning front seat, July 17th!!!!!

I agree they should try to accomodate as many people as possible on the coasters, but also understand that it's not always possible. But, it's quite disturbing to not know if you're going to make it or not. Publishing ridiculously low stats and an insanely long list of rides to which they "might" apply makes it quite annoying. I'd rather they set hard limits for each ride and publish them like they do for kids - be it a weight limit, a height limit, or both. At least you'd be assured of consistent treatment and you'd know which rides you weren't going to fit on in advance. Test seats are great, but they don't do you any good if you're 4 hours away.
