6/18 - (Mon)
Left home and went straight to Soak City. SS sucked 13 years ago, and sadly, it's no more impressive now. Fun for a couple of hours, a great way to cool off with an all Ohio pass, but needs an update.
Around 3:00 I checked into my hotel, found I got what I paid for, and headed into CP through the SS parking lot through recommendations from these boards so I could hop on the Maverick for my first ride of the season. About 30 minutes in line, just off the wood queue, I was nabbed up as a single rider (repeats EVERY time I ride,) and get front row on the Gold train, which I rode a total of 12 out of 13 times (the 12th ride was the copper one,) through the week (guess I'm destined for that car.)
WOW! I went on expecting it to be a nice smooth ride but man, I was taken aback. It's smooth, but it's got it's kick, nothing else I can really say about it that hasn't been mentioned already. (If you want details, MSG me or go ride it!) That was the first and last time I had my arm's up on that coaster, that's for sure. Total of 3 rides that day, last one being at night.
From there I went to Millie, rode some of my favorites, (Iron Dragon, Disaster Transport, Raptor, and just hung around maverick for the rest of the day.
6/19 - (Tue)
Got my early morning, mid day, and late night rides on Maverick. Took a spin on Millie, and decided to hit up the Dragster because I knew rain was coming and I had nothing better to do anyways. Once I got in line, it had mechanical problems, people left, rinse and repeat until I'm on the platform. Then I spend a total of 5 hours waiting for the rain to stop just so I can get my 1 ride in for the trip. That's all you need, anything else and it becomes too predictable. One of the late arrival employees who got stuck working the Power Tower (Melissa,) was rotated to TTD for the rain. Kept me and a couple other people entertained while we waited. Huge thanks goes out to her.
After Dragster, I hit up my favorite rides, got my last Maverick run in and recognized Patrick working Maverick from the previous day.
6/20 - (Wed)
I woke up late, but decided to get a morning run on maverick (OMG THE TUNNEL FOG WORKS NOW!!!) in and once through on Millie before hitting up SC. Rode some tube slides and after riding a couple body-slides I noticed I lost my season pass. Yeah I'm an idiot. I went on the lazy river to "cool off" (I was angry at myself,) and hoping to believe the lifeguards were honest about "we'll find it and leave it right here." Amazingly enough, I got off the river and there it was. Big thanks once again to the staff.
Went back into the park for another spin on Maverick, and Patrick recognized me. It felt good to have regular employees acknowledge regular guests.
Another journey to the front of the park to ride my favorites, then to the back for Maverick again, and I decided to call it a night.
6/21 - (Thurs)
Repeat of Tuesday except I left the park early so I could wake up early to pack.
6/22 - (Fri)
Maverick, Millie, Maverick and Home. 280 was open on my way there, closed on my way back home. Here's to it opening soon so I can shave that extra 20 mins of construction and traffic out of my trips.
Overall - (The Week)
Met and rode with some interesting people, got my fair share of protein from Millie, and got to hear 2 of the best spiels ever. Patrick wins so far for the Maverick spiel. Something like "Dig in yer spur's, cause she's all your's. Enjoy your ride on the Maverick." Complete with cheesy southern/western accent all the way from "Oncoming riders" to departure from the station.
I didn't catch her name, but I don't remember EVER hearing any employee say "rawrrrr" EVERY TIME Iron Dragon is clear in all my years of going to CP. I just died laughing.
P.S. I tried to compact as much of this as I could, cause 4 days is ALOT to cover in one post... and I don't want to make anyone read a wall of text to say what my (they better be obvious,) favorite rides are.

Whats wrong with Soak City? What would you have 'updated'?
I spent probably 5-6 hours in SC on Monday. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and never rode a slide.
I know water rides don't really allow for much innovation but there are a few different types of water rides I have seen at other parks that I'd love to see there. I don't remember the styles but there are ones that shoot you uphill with water jets and that one large raft ride that you drop into a funnel that Geauga Lake has. I guess I expect too much out of a water park.
Soak City just reminds me of the county water park I've got by my house. Nothing I can't get for $7 back home.
