A week into my first year.

Well, it's been a week now, and I still haven't riden anything in the park(with the exception of Cad Cars). Things are going smoothly, abeit slow, I actually saw a tumbleweed in the park today. Working restrooms is largley contrfasting from day to day. Yesterday I worked arcade, ballroom, cc, and macaroni's, today I worked Spiral and Johnny rockets, tomorrow I've been told I'm working Main and Demon. All very different, I've been told that I'm doing a great job, but I swear I'm trying as hard as I can to do a half-hearted job ;)

I'm glad you like it so far, Emerald Spider. I worked mostly Area 2, but spent some time up front. Enjoy the slow pace while you can! The first month is always awesome because the park really isn't that busy at all...but come the end of May, things are going to start to get crazy. Nothing you can't handle, but I just wanted you to be prepared. I hope things keep working out for you :)

Here's an employment survival tip... don't post here while you're employed.

Let me second that advice... wanna get the fear of god put into you? Get called into your manager's office over something that you posted on GTTP. I'm not particularly going to discuss how close I feel I came to being fired... but let's just say I took a little posting hiatus at that point.

Yeah, I also got pulled aside and told that they knew I posted here, 3 years ago I think it was. Basically told to stay out of certain topics.

First of all, this is the Internet. There is no freedom of speech here. Heck, I don't even have to let you or anyone else post here.

Second, when you work for a company, you shut your hole when they tell you or you cease to work there. In fact, it's in the contract.

It's this wonderful little thing called an IP address in turn which can be matched up with the date and time stamp of the post in turn which gives you the screen name..

Thank you for calling tech support... Oh wait i'm not at work!

Proprietary information. What you know belongs to the company. It's a weird concept, but if you want to keep knowing things, you have to keep the floodgates bolted shut.

Somehow I doubt CP is keeping track of IP numbers on a forum website and has the pull to make ISPs match them up with physical addresses. Come on, now.

i agree with you jeff but the worst thing they can do is tell you not to post here. i mean they can't just fire you for saying something, unless it says in your contract do not post on any internet fan site for cedar point. but i don't know i haven't worked for cedar point.

They sure as hell can fire you, and it is in the contract. Even if it wasn't, they can still can you for sharing company secrets.

Oh yes they can fire you. Ohio is an employment at will state, isn't it?

And yes, Mr. Scott, I would be quite surprised to see who at Cedar Point has enough power with the law to force ISPs to disclose the identities of their customers. Hell, the RIAA is having a hard time with it.
