A very depressing sight at Cedar Point!

The Oceana Midway is a very depressing sight, reason being is you see very few people over in this area.  This area needs to be addressed, because it takes up alot of valuable space.  Adding some new major ride in the area of Oceana would help eleviate some congestion in other parts of the park, mainly the main midways and Millenium Force / Mantis area.  We all know why the MF and Mantis area is so popular, but I think it is time for Dick Kinzel and Cedar Point management to do something about this area.  Believe you me when I say this, Cedar Point is losing money on that square footage of the park.

Cedar Point must do something now!  This area is hurting there bottom line big time!  Come on, be honest, who actually runs to the Oceana area when the park first during the day.  Very few and far between!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure planning and design will be calling you for a resume any minute now. I don't know how they could have overlooked it, but your detective work will hopefully help them overcome this terrible use of land.

Man, I never thought of that before!  That is amazing!  While you are at it, tell them that they have a problem with traffic at night.  They were probably not aware that traffic backs up on the causeway making for a long exit from the park.
BTW, Jeff.  Why can we write Dick Kinzel's name on this site?  CoasterForum bleeps it out.

Friendly.
Chief Wahoo, apparently any filtration Jeff does here is either more permissive than on CoasterForum, or it's context sensitive ("you can prick your finger, but you can't..." --G. Carlin) here.

Who did bump into a filter on one of Jeff's boards once...

It is kind of ironic how Jeff and Chief Yahoo, subtly criticize people, like me in this post.  I understand, it is very easy to do, I admit that I do it at times too.  However the Oceana Midway has been like this for the past 5 or so years, Cedar Point hasn't done anything about it, so I think it is time that some enthusiasts say something about it!  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what I posted, but when Cedar Point continually takes no action in that area , either they are not going to do something in that area now and forever or they have somthing so big planned for that area (Like the boardwalk project which people on this web site have been bragging about for years never materializes and is qouted as a big false rumor to confuse people or it is dead in the water by some people who post here)  that it takes 5 to 6 years to actually develop.

Maybe next I will just sit here and brag about Millenium Force like everyone else here does.

Just Coasting, there have been rumors about Oceana for a long time...  check out these GTTP news articles:
http://www.guidetothepoint.com/thepoint/news/default.asp?search=oceana&timespan=1825
I just searched for Oceana...
Or, you could search the forums for "Oceana Development" or "Boardwalk project" or whatever.  Yes, it is obvious that Oceana is basically dead and is in need of something big to revive it.

Oh, yes one more thing.  I am depressed and disappointed with Cedar Point on how they utilize this area, especially since they are the number 1 amusement park in the world.  Believe you me, if I was a very big shareholder of Cedar Point, I would be asking questions!!!  Cedar Point is awesome and is a great place and there are 100 positive things to every 1 negative aspect at this park.  And I truly love this park!  That is why I expect so much and pay so much!
Ya and next year I will sign up for the dive team to do summersualts into the Oceana Pool
You know what that brings up an interesting question...  Does CP decide what ride they want to add, then search for a location?  Or do they decide the location (in this case, Oceana) and then search for a ride to add?

I would assume the first of the two...

I can see Old Timer Tim jumping in here any moment now with one of his classic "let the experts run the park" comments.

Does that other forum really censor Dick Kinzel's name? First or last? That's pretty sad.

Trust me, Just Coasting, I'm trying to save you from further embarassment. Your name has come up before on "the other side," and hardly in a positive way, either.

Now I feel like I am in a Star Wars movie "The Other Side"  Like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker...
WOW, Thanks Sherlock Holmes, I mean Just Coasting...I never knew why the Oceana area was always so quiet. I thought it was a special perk for Joe Cool Club members. I am just so glad you stopped playing RCT long enough to share your "wondeful insight" with all of us. If GTTP has an award at the end of the year for "Most Obvious Information in a Post"...You WIN. (end of sarcasm..in case you couldn't figure that out.)
NOW, if you follow the HISTORY of CP and look at the MAJOR developements over the years you will notice there is ALWAYS one part of the park that appears "neglected". Yes, that area is currently the Oceana Midway and I know CP is aware of this point.
When Magnum was built, people sprinted off the main midway and headed to that part of the park...Raptor, helped bring people back to the front of the park. And Mantis, Power Tower and MF have "salvaged" the Middle of the park, aka Frontier Trail. Why there was even a time when people felt Frontier Trail was the "dead area".
Everything CP does is done for a reason, think of it as a BIG chess game with each move thought out LONG and hard.
At our "webmaster request"
LEAVE THE RUNNING OF THE PARK TO THE EXPERTS. And just because you "play" RCT you are NOT and expert.
Now, step away from the computer, go buy your school supplies and RELAX and enjoy what CP is!!!

Wow.  All was going to say about this thread was "is the sarcasm running a bit thick around here or is it just me".  I can't even say that now.    All I can say is "uncanny grasp of the obvious".

Jeff, didn't you say that after this season cp was removing Oceana?
The funny thing is Nelson that Jeff has been promoting that rumor since 1999.  Sometimes I begin to wonder if he is on Cedar Points payroll?
