A tip to save your feet!

Greetings, Cedar Point Lovers! As a frequent (6 times in the past 3 years, and 2 more trips planned this summer) visitor to Cedar Point, I felt that I should share this tip with all of you.

The first time I went to Cedar Point, almost 3 years ago, I decided to wear sneakers, because I knew we would be doing a lot of walking. Well, unbeknownst to me at the time, Cedar Point was prone to frequent rain showers. As a result, my sneakers were completely soaked through, and the next morning, my feet were in excruciating pain from being stuck in dripping wet sneakers all day long.

Then, i discovered the ideal footwear for a trip to Cedar Point: Keds flip flops. These flip flops, available at many places (I found mine at Kohls), are very rugged and provide support for your feet, so they are comfortable to walk in. They also have a sneaker like bottom, so they are great for walking all over America's Roller Coast. And best of all, your feet won't feel like you impaled them with millions of knives the next morning!

Thank you for your time, and I hope everyone has a great time this summer at Cedar Point!! :)

Reefs sandals if you can afford to dump $50 on some sandals AND GET A BEER OPENER ON THE BOTTOM. How cool is that....

Quicksilver sandals browntown I think it is? $20 sandals that aren't bad

Thanks for the tip i<3raptor. I hate wearing tennashoes to CP, because on hot summer days it feels a lot better to wear flips. I think I might have to invest in a pair of those Keds. :)

I always wear flip flops to the point hah. Although it can go very bad with the wrong pair...

Blisters in between your big toe.

But if you get a good pair you don't have those problems.

lol that's too funny you say that, because I have a healing blister in that very spot from our last trip to CP. But I couldn't imagine wearing anything else in 90 degree weather...

Oh, definitely. You have to get a good pair that isn't going to fall apart in five minutes or you will be very sorry. Like I said, Keds makes nice ones and they run about $20-$25. Just kick them off before you go on anything like Raptor or you get to run around CP barefoot. Fun? Not so much.

I would definitely take a blister over having my feet get smashed by sneakers though.

^ I agree about the sneakers part. I like the barefoot feeling on Raptor. :)

I thought the tip to save your feet was to rent a wheelchair! ;)

Kinda pointless at a place where you don't need a bottle opener.

Now, if you get the ones with flasks in the soles, then you've got a good idea.

Jugga, well you have to remove the sandal heh.

Shoes just breed moisture on any day, and socks + shoes in summer time is just not cool fashion wise hah.

No, I mean that you don't need a bottle opener at the park. I've seen the sandals, but wasn't going to buy a pair for 45 bucks (I'll find them cheaper than where I saw them in Saugatuk).

I must abuse my feet and legs at parks more than everyone else. The only thing that works for me is running shoes. If I don't wear them I get shin splints something fierce and my feet hurt for several days. For the life of me I can't understand how anyone can possibly walk the next day if they wore flip flops to the park.

And factory81, I have to disagree - I think I look awesomely cool with my tennis shoes, socks, and fanny pack!

You should have stopped at socks.

Never had shin splints while in the park. I have wore shoes before and had the rub on the back of my heal and I have wore crappy sandals to the park before.

So it's all about a good quality setup for whatever works for you.

May not be cool fashion wise but anything that covers up some folks' nasty toes and feet is fine with me!

I've never worn anything but the normal low top Converse to CP and I have yet to have any problems with my feet or legs. The only issue I think would come about from Converse is if you stand in the same sunny spot on cement for too long, then it would probably burn.

An inverted coaster is like a ski lift gone haywire!!

I bought a pair of cross trekkers tennis shoes at the beginning of the season and they have been great for my feet. I have used them for

two visits to kings island and cedar point and several visits for kennywood. I have a-lot of sole.

Does anyone else here use the "Barrels of Fun"in front of the stores in the back of the park? I find myself stopping at them whenever I see them. They're the best $0.25 foot massage ever! Today I even used them to shake off a spasm in my lower back I received courtesy of Mean Streak.
