I am currently a 14 year old and I have loved Cedar Point since my first visit when I was 5. I was reading over Cedar Point's website and what I saw is that Cedar Point has very good employment. I was thinking that the summer before I go to college I would like to work there. Can anyone tell me If Cedar Point is a good place to work and what kind of special bonuses you get for working there.
Thanks
Hey ddogg, I'd say work there, but make sure you get into a department that you will like. From my personal experience I would not work in merchandise. I worked there the summer of '98 and without being crude, I didn't care much for the way they ran things in there. The schedules were always messed up, they would move me around all the time, and continuously worked me extremely long shifts. I'm transfering to ride op. this year and I think it will be a lot better and I will have a more set schedule. I think overall it is worth working there at least once. You get in the park for free, there's the ride nights which are a blast, and the bonus check at the end of the year is pretty nice too. But be careful, if you work there you might get really bored with cedar point quickly.
Thanks, in case you were wondering, I like to think things off before they happen. Also, can someone tell me if working Ride op is difficult. I figured it would be very stressful. Rides like Mantis, Raptor, PT, and MF would be stressful because of all the riders that would want to get on it.
Ride Op is not very difficult. The most difficult part is the controls for the rides. Some control panels are complex. But training is really good, and most of the complex ones are automated to a point. You really can't get bored working at CP. Your crew keeps you on your toes, and there is always something interesting happining. Such as sick guests:) and storms. Overall it is a fun experiance, and not very difficult.

Thanks for your help. I think I will be working at Cedar Point after I graduate!
Hey ddogg are you aware that you can work this season as long as you have your parents permission. Cedar Point does hire as young as 14.
I know, but, I live 3 hours away! My parent's would never agree to it!
Better wait 4 more years then
Ok i would have to agree.
hey ddogg im 16 and im gonna work there after i graduate from high school and before collage. from what ive herd Cedar Point will be a great place to work. i would work there now but i live 2 hours away and im in 3 sports all school year round so i would never have a chance to work there during high school.
Ddogg maybe someday ill meet you at the point.
I am 14 years old, but I live 2 hours away. Do you have to live close to CP to work there? I kow people who live about 50 miles away from Cp.

Yeah, you could work there, you would just have to find a ride to work every day....and 2 hours is a long commute! (I don't think any parent would agree to driving their kids that far every day)
