I don't know, Walt. When I was there last month, the smell of urine could be "enjoyed" (not) coming from the Raptor Restrooms from 40 feet away from their entrances. My brother (who is not as much as a CP freak as me) commented that he was suprised that CP allowed that to happen. I couldn't defend the park on that one. My gosh, it was May 13th! That kind of stench already?
I don't dare imagine what that area will smell like on a hot August Saturday.

Time IS a big factor but my guess would be to do it at the end of the day when everybody is gone. That way, it is has time to dry.

But they certainly don't say, "the bathrooms are going to get dirty again anway."
Cleaning up the ride area is supposed to be part of the closing and opening procedures. Closing involves sweeping the queues while opening generally involves de-cobbwebbing. Whether or not that get's done is up to the Team Leader, I guess.
Some rides it is more of a problem. I know that Thunder Canyon would get many, large ones during the night hours that we would have to take care of every morning. I'm thinking that the Dragster crew just kind of forgets about it amongst all the more important opening procedures such as transferring one 5 trains in the morning.

It's not really the responsibility of the TL/ATL's to do that as part of their cleaning.
I don't think you realize how difficult it is to get those spider webs down. There's no real good way to do it. They are so numberous and spread like wildfire -- especially during the spiders mating season. Not to mention while the station has adequate lighting for the floor and train section, it's kind of hard to see if the roof is clean or not. That being said, it's impossible to do it at night and crews generally aren't allowed to come in earlier (because most of the time they're just fooling around if they do). I'm not going into it any further than that, but they don't like crews cleaning in the morning they want it done at night.
PS - if you do manage to get the webs down (say with water) you have to then sweep the entire station / spray the entire station in a very patterned way to get it all off. That being said it takes about 30min - 1 hour for a person to do this well (and that's not including the ceiling part) for some rides. (also please note the word WELL. You can do a half assed job but it looks like crap after you do it).
In my opinion the stations have always been a mess and there are ways to deal with it. My friend who was a sanitation manager at the time sent Cedar Point a letter giving them recommendations on how to deal with bird droppings, gum, etc. It was just an FYI and there was no need for a reply on their part.
I always thought the stations at Mantis and Magnum were the worst because of the gum. And they could definitely make the water more appealing at Mantis as well.

Would you like them to chlorinate it so that its all nice and clear? Its a FREAKIN POND. Pond's aren't supposed to look like swimming pools.
The gum wouldn't be such a problem if people would spit into the garbage cans instead of being complete idiots about it. I don't blame CP for things like that being dirty as I see them having more important things to do, like running a ride. Clean it maybe once or twice a month but it's not a daily thing that needs to be done.
I have never gone to Cedar Point and thought that it was dirty, even in the stations. If there are cobwebs, big deal, ITS OUTDOORS, there should be cobwebs.

Ugh... Cleaning the gumwall on Raptor sucks....
THIS is why they shouldn't sell gum anywhere on the property... lol. Once again, using the mouse house as an example they don't sell gum anywhere at Disney. How would you like to be one of the 'gum scapers' down there that spend all night cleaning the gum off the walks? Ick.

I think as Cedarpoint fans we should encourage anyone we see to stop putting gum on the rides. I think the park looks better without gum, also the fountain up front is a good place to throw money in not in gum

Ok, tell me where they sell gum. They don't sell it anywhere in the park for the above reasons.

Yea, they don't sell cigarettes in the park either and what is the number one thing sweeps and ride hosts have to sweep up? You guessed it! Cigarette butts. Why is throwing a butt on the ground like an accepted form of litter? Most people don't throw their pop bottle or potato chip bag on the ground after they are done with them. Stomp it out on the ground if you must, but then bend your lazy ass over, pick it up, and throw it in the trash. Or better yet, just use one of the ashtrays located at every major ride entrance.
Cobwebs are difficult to keep up with, but crews usually do try to knock a bunch down in the morning if there is nothing more pressing to do.

As a smoker (gasp!), I respect the efforts of the park to keep things clean, as do other smokers (gasp!) that I visit with do. If an ashcan is not available, simply ripping off the burning part (the "hotbox"), dropping it on the ground (it all burns up to ash), and tossing the filter part in a trash can seems to be acceptable.
Of course, if the idiot smokers didn't throw their butts on the ground, it would put someone(s) out of work.
Yet another example of how smoking helps the economy. ;)

Hear, hear, Mr. Scott. I agree whole heartedly. {Oh god please don't bash my spelling.}
First trip June 23rd
There are gumball machines scattered throughout the park, and they do sell cigarettes at the marina store (although I hear they're something like $5 a pack).
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
