Hi! I just recently decided I wanted to work at Cedar Point this summer. I was waiting to see of I would receive any internships through my college for my major, but I never got an offer. I still wanted to do something this summer, so I decided to apply to work at my favorite summertime activity! I just put in my application a few days ago, so I was wondering if most positions would be filled by now. I would love to work as a ride host, but I know those positions are hard to come by. I've worked retail before, so I also said I would like to work as a merch sales associate. I have a few questions : how long does it normally take to have someone get back to you if a manager has reviewed your application? What are my chances of getting my preferred job as ride host? And if anyone here has any advice to give that would be great!
Greetings! I am a first year myself but I can answer your questions. To my knowledge, there are still openings for most of the seasonal positions. Your past experience in retail should help. They might contact your past employer for a reference if you chose to allow them on your application. If your application interests a hiring manager, they will contact you to set up an interview either in person or through skype depending on your distance from the park. Otherwise, they will pass it on but it will still say that they reviewed it. There is no way to put a definite number on the length of time it takes for them to choose to contact you. As your application is only a few days old, I would recommend being patient for now based on what I have seen from other posts on here and through my own experiences with jobs.
If you do well in the interview, and are physically capable, you will likely be offered a position. Keep in mind that Cedar Fair has strict appearance and conduct guidelines and remember that your actions directly reflect on what a guest thinks of the the entire park.
Best of luck to you and I hope to see you at the Point this summer!

GDUBS hit the nail on the head, and I'm also going to emphasize patience, as some people here seem to lack. Good luck, and I also hope to see you at the point this summer!

Glad you got what you wanted. They definitely needed some fresh faces. Not implying everyone was bad last season.
I'll be up there June 2nd and 3rd for two days of great rides and fun and will probably ride MF at least 10x each day, more depending on lines.
Hope you enjoy your summer working there and do your best to ignore the rude guests without resorting to violence :D
