hey everyone, i've been reading this board daily since getting hired as a games host a couple weeks ago. I have a couple questions that i have yet to find an answer to in other threads...
1. Is there cedar point issued hats we can wear while we work?
2. 90% white shoes... sound easy enough? Not to me! I hate to buy a pair of shoes i dont like so I have a pair I'll post and you all let me know what ya think. also, any suggestions of shoes u know work, post em.
please note: that grey looking area on the side is actually like a transparent plastic
3. What kind of shifts should i be expecting as a games host? This should not be coming off as a "what crappy times am i gonna have to work then beetch about" question like i've seen before. I, personally, am looking forward to 60-80 hours a week!! I've done it before and I can do it again. I'm just curious if i should expect 6 am or 10 am mornings and so on.
4. Hows the AC in commons dorms? I know in my dorm room here at school, the AC is crap and we usually just leave our windows open instead. Do they resemble the cooling power of a good window unit?
5. Are there locks on the doors of individual rooms of the apartments in commons?
Thanks everyone...i'll be sure to post any future questions in this thread
PS - count me and my 2 friends in on the softball league ;-)

As far as the shoes go, they look fine to me. I didn't have any problems with stuff like that while I was up there.
And for air conditioning, commons AC is the best thing to come home to after a humid/hot day on-point. You'll like it.
That's all I have for ya. Best of luck and have fun this summer.

Mantis Crew '02 - Where's the unload station at?!? ;-)
1.) Yes, you can get hats from wardrobe for cheap prices. Also, sometime they'll approve use of a "real" CP hat. For example a bunch of the Magnum crew had the tan Magnum #1 Rollercoaster in the World" hats last summer.
2.) Those shoes look fine. They are more white then the ones CP sells I think. They aren't as picky about the shoes as they make it seem.
3.) Not really sure for games, but I'd expect 60+ hours. I don't think you'd have to be in at 6AM unless there's something I don't know about. 9AM to about 12:30 PM is about as bad as it ever was for me. Millennium Force's crew was there until after 1 on Saturdays I am sure though.
4.) The AC in Commons dorms is pretty good - not quite as good as a hotel, but better than the AC I had at school my freshman year. Consider yourself lucky if you are fortunate enough to get a dorm with AC.
5.) The locks are fine, but the roomates are the problem. If you lock the door and someone else doesn't, it doesn't matter how good the lock is.
Hope that helped a bit! :)
