A few more questions I thought of....

I keep thinking of things!

1.How many lockers are in the Commons dorm rooms? Is there one for each person?

2.I know everyone says there is very limited space for clothes and stuff.... about how much room is there exactly? Drawers? Any closet space?

3.In the dorms can you have a microwave? Minifridge? If not, how did you go about your meals?

4.My mom will be driving up with me to help me get moved in. Can she go with me while I process in or does she need to wait somewhere?

THANKS!

Most lockers are about 3 feet wide. If you have 4 roommates sometimes someone is stuck with a dresser that doesnt lock.
The commons store has a microwave, but you can have one in your room. You can also have a small fridge.
And yes, your Mom can help you move in. But while you process in, you probably will need her to wait in the car.
Good Luck and enjoy your season on the roller coast!

Eh, I saw plenty of parents in HR or wardrobe, or coming in to the games office while their kid did paperwork. I think it's kind of unnecessary though since you'll be going the whole summer on your own anyway. One mom actually called the games office on opening day wanting to be able to come into the park for free to take a picture of her daughter on her first day...or have one of us do it.

1. There is one locker per person. (I've heard there's sometimes exceptions in 1300s.)

2. This space differs from dorm to dorm. All the lockers are the same; about the average height of a school locker, and 2 to 2.5 times as wide. Similar to a small closet, and it will function as such. Drawer space is limited. Depending on where you live, you'll get 1 or 2 dressers for the people in your room, or one drawer underneath your bunk. Space is limited! Don't pack non-essential clothes, but be sure to bring clothing for every weather occasion.

3. No microwave; yes fridge. You'll likely be eating most of your meals out, or at the employee cafeteria. You can supplement with sandiwiches and other items your purchase at the store. Microwaves are available in some dorm lobbies and the Commons store/office.

4. This varies. Typically, if you're starting after Opening Day, unless she has a ticket or a season pass, she'll have to wait outside the park. Before Opening Day could go either way. There's sometimes an exception if you're a minor.

What is the chance that you get to work a coaster on your first season? Also, when you apply for it, do you get to choose where you'd like to work?

You have just as much chance as anyone else of getting put on a coaster. It's really based on how you answer certain questions during your interview, and where they need additional staffing.

I would say that your Availability has a big part on where you end up, as well as your tolerance of working long hours. I'm a first year and will be on Mantis. I have full availability through the whole season as well.

Not entirely true. Staffing is spread so that people with different availability dates, long and short, are at all attractions. This way, when you lose some, you still have enough to operate. If you put everyone with short availability on flats, when their contracts ran out, you wouldn't have anyone to run those flats.

Not that that doesn't always happen anyway...

But yeah, I'm honestly pretty bummed that I'm not going back to Blue Streak (or so my contract tells me) this summer, but I'll be at the park, with my friends, which is all that really matters to me right now.

Answers to the questions have pretty much been covered, although I will say to make sure you bring enough cold-weather clothes. I almost didn't have enough last summer, and I was only there until the end of August, if that tells you how quickly the weather changes day to day.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

What is the Commons store like?

Think if it as a stripped down 7-11. It has all the basics that can get you thru the night. Great way to stop in a get a doughnut and OJ and head to the bus. Alot of people also eat in the Rec Center Cafe. I never ate there once and only got stuff from the store a few times. However I have a car so that change things abit.
