A Day to Remember

WOW, few days stick out in my mind but Sunday September 28th will always memorable. Not only did I get my rollback on Dragster, I got two!

The first came in the middle of the day. Shorty and I were in the green train, in the second to last car. The train infront of us made it over with ease. Then when we made it up to the pre-stage area the wind picked up. I mean really picked up. I started to laugh but I didn't want to say anything to curse it. As soon as the first yellow light came on my hands were up! Going down the launch track I could feel the winds were a lot stronger as usual. We got to the top of the top hat and we stalled for about three seconds Steve and I looked at each other and we started giving each other high fives as we slowly started to back down the hill. WOW. Then my brother was riding Magnum was sitting in the readies called me and told me he just saw Dragster rollback and I told I couldn't stop laughing because I told him we were in the train.

After that ride we rode one more time and then we got in line again. This time we waited out the rain, and a few more rollbacks. This time again we were in the second car from the back and right before our train came in the station they announced that they wanted the last car loaded as it was running empty. HEHEHEHE! Then we pulled out of the station and again the train infront of us made it over no problem. This time we launched we both expected to go over, but then hit the top of the hill and we paused and we slowly started rolling back again.

Now I can die a happy man!

You guys sure are easy. I could have a dozen rollbacks and I can think of a whole lot of reasons to not die.

What time does the water show start?

Ah crap NOW we'll hear an off season of..."This One time, I mean twice...on TTD,...."
No kidding Jeff.. I've had a dozen rollbacks and plan on sticking around on this planet for at least a little while longer. A few goals in my life I need to achieve and they tend to be a little loftier than a rollback. ;)

Good point OTT.. :)

Yeah, I was there yesterday and watched a couple of them. Still haven't been lucky enough to get on one though.

I heard you talking about your 2 rollbacks last night, Dan. (I was the guy in line for Dragster just in front of you who asked about Werewolf Canyon.)

Dan & Steve,

Lucky Ducks..thats all I can say! When I rode yesterday they decided to load all but the last 2 rows on our train out as they hadnt right before we got on. I figured it would be our best shot, but it didn't work out. :(

I missed a double rollback train by just one car. If I had been two people ahead in line I would have gotten on. Oh well, I'm glad for those who have had one, and I know I will get mine one day :)

BTW, just to add a little bit more of the day, I got 46 rides in just 11 hrs. 14 MF, 10 Raptor, 10 Magnum, 5 BS, 3 TTD, 2 Mantis, and 2 WT :) Great day for sure :)

It was a GREAT day - I got 48 rides in total! Including my 100th Millenium and 100th Raptor rides :)

And I met some GTTP people too - Pete and Dan. Pete and I headed over to Dragster at the end of the day hoping to hit a rollback, but too bad - they had shut down the rear seats by the time we rode :( One day.....

Hey Scott - I was on the Dragster station then too - Pete and I were the guys Dan was talking to!

Will this kid ever sleep through the night?!?

I'm "worried" about all three of you if a "rollback" is such a highlight in your lives;)

But this can NEVER replace dan's original "Magnum & Me" Story.

September 28, 2003 was indeed a day to remember. It was easily the best overall coaster experience I've ever had. Among all of the New Yorkers that made their annual pilgrimage to Cedar Point, I believe that my Father and I were the luckiest. After three trips and three modes of transportation packed into one season, we finally struck gold. The initial disappointment at CoasterMania had subsided as our next trip culminated with a single ride on Dragster. We were able to use the freeway passes that were distributed at CoasterMania to become the first riders of one of the last days prior to Dragster's longest breakdown period. My day got even brighter as I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Kinzel and company later that evening.

Last weekend, we returned to Cedar Point on a spur of the moment birthday surprise by my Father. In addition to numerous rides on some of our favorites, we amassed seven more rides on Dragster. If that doesn't seem great enough, perhaps the two front seat rollbacks that we had on our last two rides of the year does. Needless to say, this was a blessing that blew us both away. I know that many of you have been fortunate enough to ride Dragster quite a few more times than we have, but in my opinion, ten launches over a span of eight rides is more than anybody could ever ask for.I'd like to thank Mr. Kinzel and everybody else at Cedar Fair for providing my family and I with yet another memorable experience at Cedar Point.

Where do you all get to meet Mr. Kinzel and company? Does he just walk around the park?

You all are SO lucky!!!

Millennium Force is MY baby.
Where would we be without CP?:)

I see Dick walking around the park all the time, more than other people SHOULD.
