College Program at Disney is a lot of fun. It also looks pretty good on your resume. I would recommend that you try to do Disney at some point in time. (CP is also a lot of fun, but the Ocean and Beach are a lot farther away.)
Yes, without a doubt I would choose Disney...in fact, I did. I worked the College Program many moons ago. Having that on my resume got me interviews I would not have landed otherwise. As fate would have it, having Disney on my resume got me the interview I needed for Cedar Point.
I don't think it matters what career you are going into, people just find Disney fascinating and want to talk about it. Not too mention, it is a lot of fun. The pay ain't great and the housing is expensive (but...to their credit...the housing is like a mansion compared to Cedar Point) but I didn't come back with a dime and I still say it was the most valuable work experience I have had thus far.
Commenting more on the housing... I should say when I interned for Disney, my roommates and I were the first to live in our brand new apartment, with our brand new dishes, which we washed in our dishwasher, etc etc.
While the dishes were washing, we were at the pool by our building.
Yeah, Jon. You pay a steep price for housing (I think I paid $50-something every two weeks) but it was superb. The complex had two pools, tennis courts, weight room, computer room, etc. AND, these were CONDOS, not dorm rooms.
Made for some easy living.
50-something every two weeks sounds kind of low. That's about what CP housing costs. I am pretty sure Disney's is at least 2-3 times the price of CP's housing. For the amount of time you actually spend in your house, CP's are okay provided your roomates are not complete slobs.

For me it was $78 a week. 3 times the cost of Cedar Points.(Making the cost of the 2 bedroom apartment for the 4 roommates $1200 a month) I'm an amusement/theme park freak, so I of course had to do both. I was lucky to get to do Disney during CP's off season. The only reason I would choose Disney over Cedar Point in the long run is it would mean year round employment.
Both are great experiences, both are completely different.

The Disney layoffs are over and the hiring is rebounding. Plus, they laid off full-time people while hiring more College Program folks.
If you have goals of working for Disney full-time then the best way to get your foot in the door is to work the College Program. My friend and I both did the Program. He is there full time and his been for the past 8 years. I had a chance to go Full Time but did other things.
Cedar Point is known in pockets of the country. Disney is known around the world. I am telling you that the Mouse on your resume makes an immediate impact.
For fun, you can't go wrong with either place.
Disney is currently hiring a whole lot of people!! And they have not been losing that much, like other companies it's because of Sept 11. It may be the same at CP this year, you never know!
