I haven't been to CP since early June, so went there this weekend to finally ride Windseeker. Saturday was not very crowded, everything had less than normal waits; also very warm outside. Sunday however was crowded, plus there was a little thunderstorm in the afternoon too.
I got 4 rides on Windseeker over two days. It is a very fun, relaxing ride, especially at night. Many guests also loved the ride. The sound & lighting system is great; the sound is crystal clear, and the lights were working well the first evening. The second night however, there were random strands of color out of rhythm with the other light patterns. But otherwise, it was a great ride.
I also rode Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Mean Streak, Disaster Transport, Magnum XL 200, Maverick, Skyhawk, and Gemini quite a few times during my trip. CCMR and Mean Streak had great crews; CCMR was even briefly running 3 trains Saturday afternoon, the crew was also very friendly. Mean Streak was running very efficently; plus the crew handled a double protein spill at the exits of the ride very well. Disaster Transport actually had some THEMEING working during my rides over 2 days. There were laser lights, lighten art work panels, an illuminated creature in one of the helixes, and maybe a sound effect or 2. I was pretty impressed given Cedar Fair's standards on complicated scenery.
Paddlewheel Excursions had a great final weekend. There were pretty good crowds and the scenery was working properly. The crew was also very friendly. According to the ride hosts, the boats are leaving Cedar Point today. I am a bit upset that Paddlewheel is leaving.
In addition to those rides, I rode Monster, Corkscrew, Wildcat, Raptor, Iron Dragon, Space Spiral, Blue Streak, Shoot the Rapids, and the car rides.
Island Heat, Tropical Beat was the only show running this weekend (besides the Peanuts shows); it was a pretty good show, it improved much from early June. The performers were very enthusiastic, and interacted with the crowd well. I don't really like the location of the live show; it doesn't really fit in well with the building, and there is not enough room in there either.
Here are a few things I have noticed:
-Iron Dragon is still running 2 trains, no one should have to wait 30 minutes for that ride. T
-The park was exceptionally clean and the trash cans were never overfilling.
-CCMR station parking seems to be a bit faster than used to be. It could just be me, but did it get a new control system?
Overall Great time, sorry if the report was a bit long.
