Sometimes I am a SR it all depends on who I am with or if I was just in the area and swung by the park. I guess you could say I am an enthusiast but I never did understand why people need to push their way through an broadcast they are a single rider. I just wait my turn and sometimes I just get lucky other times I get really boned. Anymore though any ride is a good ride as long as everyone is wearing deodorant.

How depressing. I really really really dislike being associated with those people as a park enthusiast.
Don't worry, we're not in that group. That group is for enthusiasses only.

I agree, while I was a single rider wainting in line there was a very portly teenage girl bulldozing through the line. The worst thing is that most of them never even say excuse me or anything.
i think that saying "excuse me" is a lost custom in this country....we were at U2 at Soldier Field and were in the General Admission area (standing only, no chairs) and people just PUSHED past, no "excuse me", no nothing. the BEER VENDORS said "excuese me" more than the other attendees did. every time somone pushed past me i would yell "EXCUSE YOU" and shame them a bit. sometimes it worked but more often it didnt.
it really makes me wonder what happened to simple manners and decorum in this country. how sad that's it all MEMEMEME and that the single rider line, obviously put there to aid capacity and add a convienience to the guest experience is being abused in this way.

I'm a bit jealous you got to go to that show. How was it? I had tickets for the Saturday show, but had to sell them because I couldn't get out of work. :(
I was there for Dragster night. I was actually having a conversation with single rider 2 and his group. I only got in 4 rides that night because my body could not handle any more. That group was pusy. I walked back to the entrance instead of running. I had a good time though.

I've been hoping to see some Detroit or Cleveland dates added for 2010. I would definitely need to make it to one of those shows.

I saw them twice on the Vertigo Tour. First time was from the nosebleed seats in Detroit. The second show was December 10, 2005 in Cleveland. Got there 7 hours early and stood in the bitter cold, but I was one of the first 10 people to have an "inside the ellipse" general admission ticket. That was one heck of a show being right there front and center. During the show my car got broken into and my stereo stolen, but the show was so good it was worth it. :)
heh...one of the truly converted!!
on Vertigo in Chicago i got scanned in and Bono sang to me AGAIN. and again in Milwaukee..
this tour the General Admission is WAAYYY rougher than the last two tours...rethinking my game plan for 2010. still G.A. all the way but not waiting in line for 11 hours only to be literallt pushed out of my hard-earned spot again.

I have never really had a bad enthusiast encounter. I have seen them before though.

it sucks that people are like that! I consider myself a coaster enthusiast. I travel around to different parks, whenever I can afford it. Of all the parks I have been to during coaster events, I have not seen this kind of behavior. I have seen these SR guys at CP a lot and think they need to be in a category all by themselves!
I will admit that I sometimes get impatient when I am power-riding and then get behind someone going slow. But, I bite my tongue and wait. i will not stoop to being a rude a-hole! And if I need to plow through some people to my ejector seat, I at least say excuse me! :)
