I'm a lurker...I admit it. No more.
This was a perfect trip. Bid $31 on a room via Priceline and ended up in the Comfort Inn Sandusky. Not a bad hotel for Sandusky standards. Near the mall and pretty darn close to the park.
We headed up from Columbus and arrived at the park around 2PM. Lines were light and around 6PM we went offsite for dinner and hotel checkin. I came back in for the Season Passholder TTD ERT. Rode a few rides while I was waiting for 10PM to roll around. At 10:15 I headed over to TTD and ride twice before calling it a night. The lines were extremely light. Had to laugh at the guys trying to get in the line with what looked like their library cards.
Sunday morning I arrived shortly before 9AM for the Millie extended ERT. What an absolute joy this was. It was 9:15AM and I was able to ride over and over for the next two hours through the open handicapped gate. All the regular marathoners were there. I saw no pushing or shoving, just a few overzelous single riders trying for empty seats. Never saw Single Rider Bob push, shove, or do anything rude. Even got in a ride with him. At 11:15 my bladder had it...I was tired of riding. I was able to get in 25 rides and coudlnt' imagine riding it much more then that in a day. After that I hit a few more rides, Mavrick and Magnum. Then renewed our passes for next year, collected out jackets, and headed out. It was a great quick trip.
