Whoever wanted another Millennium Mania got one yesterday! :)

After having doubts about the day, Aaron and I planned on going anyway. I wasn't expecting to ride much of anything the way the forecast looked for the day, but I was wrong.

We walked into the park after the Joe Cool opening, and headed to the Force since it was running test trains. It was interesting walking from Magnum to Coasters, we were the only people on the midway (aside from the employees).

Here is our day:

Millennium Force 10 times, one walk-on front seat ride (very painful :)). MF was running 2 trains. Hit Magnum 20 times with a one train operation. Everything else once or twice.

Around 2:00 we had lunch at Midway Market with about 2 other families in the whole resturant.

At 6:00 we went to the Red Garter to catch the last America Rocks show. Mr. Kinzel was at this show as well, and also got pulled on stage for a dance with the girls. :) For a mid-day break, we've seen this show a lot, and we never got tired of it. Great show and hope they do it again next year!

Only low points of the day was no Dragster. It was testing for a while around 1:00, but the employees said they wont open it even during a light sprinkle (which i can understand :)).

All in all, probably one of, if not the best trips I've had! Hope to have more like it!

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

Yesterday certainly was a GREAT day to be at the Po!nt. I arrived around noon wondering what, if anything, would be working. I was pleased to see Raptor, then WT running trains, but was looking for Magnum---no luck. I drove by MF and was amazed by the 2 train (at most) wait. I knew then that i picked a good day.

I entered the park and quickly learned that Magnum would be up and running shortly---with a one-train operation. That's all I needed to know. I was 1st through the line around 1PM and had a great ride (as always). I rode Maggie all day on boarded every other train with the exception of 2 that were full. I rode a total of 52 on Magnum---and all on the blue train! What are the odds? lol

Those who attended really picked a GREAT day! I've never seen the park so empty.

And Eric and I were 2 and 3 lol. First train, last train, and 18 trains in between... I swear the Magnum crew is the best in the park... if only the automated announcements were removed (Cedar Point, are you getting the hint yet?)

Yeah that was a great day. Glad I brought another set of clothes... I was soaked, and my wallet had to dry out last night (ugh!). I let the $2 for the turnpike dry out on the way.

I'll miss the America Rocks show. It was integrated into every trip... it'll be weird without that.

Alas, back to class and to work on the AAW reference file and I go... waiting for the weekend... that can't get here soon enough.

18 straight years of real thrills and counting...

Unfortunately I was only able to enjoy less than 4 hours of that crazyness, as seen in my trip report. I think the weirdest thing of the day was when me and my 2 friends were in MF's back car, and the only other people in front of us were 3 people in the front. It was a sight I doubt I'll see again for a while...

I had my doubts as we arrived at the park, but after 1st train/front row on Millie, and 9 more laps after that in the 1st hour and a half, it was all worth it. Left at noon and had my best time at the park this year, by far.

'Welcome to Alaska!'

"Alaska?? Nobody said we were going to Alaska!!"

Well guys from an employees point of view it wasn't such a great day at the park. I will admit I got to talk with alot of guests more then I usually do but all in all the day seemed to go by forever. But as always I am thrilled to see our guests enjoying the park. I was amazed at the sight of so many rides being open though....but thats a good thing...many rides usually go down if it is rainy but they did not do so on Sept 1st. Glad to know you guys had fun with the rides....but unfortunately for the person who said that Magnum crew is the best in the park...you obviously haven't seen how much both Dragster and Power Tower crew bust their A$$es every day. For Dragster when it is open those employees deserve an unbelievable amount of credit for the hours they put in and the unhappy guests that they have to deal with constantly. As for my crew....well we get to deal first hand with the guests who discover TTD isn't open....they come straight to my ride. By far the two best crews from an employee standpoint are Dragster and Power Tower....

It takes some balls to come on here whining about how bad that day was from an employee's point of view and then proclaim yourself to be the best. I've got news for you: other crews in the park work hard too. Look at operations like Corkscrew with three trains and Gemini with six trains and then get back to me.

Monday was my last day working at the park this season and yes, I'll admit that the day was boring due to one train operation and lack of guests. But when I see people like Aaron, Eric, and Robert running around in the rain time after time doing what they love to do, it brings a smile to my face and I, for one, was happy that we were up and running. You can only take so much cleaning before you go insane so I'll take running the ride over that anyday!

My vote goes to Magnum Crew for being the best. They are always friendly and fast. Thats all you can ask for for a ride op crew, besides not to get stapled. I was there today and got to meet Eric, Aaron, and got to talk to Robert again and sweet coaster freak ;). Rode all 16 coasters today too. :)
