After having doubts about the day, Aaron and I planned on going anyway. I wasn't expecting to ride much of anything the way the forecast looked for the day, but I was wrong.
We walked into the park after the Joe Cool opening, and headed to the Force since it was running test trains. It was interesting walking from Magnum to Coasters, we were the only people on the midway (aside from the employees).
Here is our day:
Millennium Force 10 times, one walk-on front seat ride (very painful :)). MF was running 2 trains. Hit Magnum 20 times with a one train operation. Everything else once or twice.
Around 2:00 we had lunch at Midway Market with about 2 other families in the whole resturant.
At 6:00 we went to the Red Garter to catch the last America Rocks show. Mr. Kinzel was at this show as well, and also got pulled on stage for a dance with the girls. :) For a mid-day break, we've seen this show a lot, and we never got tired of it. Great show and hope they do it again next year!
Only low points of the day was no Dragster. It was testing for a while around 1:00, but the employees said they wont open it even during a light sprinkle (which i can understand :)).
All in all, probably one of, if not the best trips I've had! Hope to have more like it!

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!
I entered the park and quickly learned that Magnum would be up and running shortly---with a one-train operation. That's all I needed to know. I was 1st through the line around 1PM and had a great ride (as always). I rode Maggie all day on boarded every other train with the exception of 2 that were full. I rode a total of 52 on Magnum---and all on the blue train! What are the odds? lol
Those who attended really picked a GREAT day! I've never seen the park so empty.

2003 stats: (as of 9/2/03)
Magnum - 1,804
Everything else - 94
Yeah that was a great day. Glad I brought another set of clothes... I was soaked, and my wallet had to dry out last night (ugh!). I let the $2 for the turnpike dry out on the way.
I'll miss the America Rocks show. It was integrated into every trip... it'll be weird without that.
Alas, back to class and to work on the AAW reference file and I go... waiting for the weekend... that can't get here soon enough.

Monday was my last day working at the park this season and yes, I'll admit that the day was boring due to one train operation and lack of guests. But when I see people like Aaron, Eric, and Robert running around in the rain time after time doing what they love to do, it brings a smile to my face and I, for one, was happy that we were up and running. You can only take so much cleaning before you go insane so I'll take running the ride over that anyday!
