8/8-8/11

My first trip to CP:

Sunday the 8th seemed very crowded. We got there at 9:30 and there were lots of people already. We went to TTD and waited for the front. Took almost 2 hours, but was well worth it. We got on it again later and pretended to be asleep at the start (I heard a kid yell out, "Wake up!" from the bleachers) and then we yawned and stretched like we just woke up as we passed the line at the end of the ride. We both have shaved heads if anyone saw us--that day my friend wore a shirt that said, "Atheist." We hit all the big coasters once that day (except Raptor--we jumped into empty seats after our 1st ride).

The next day we went to Soak City (had the Ride and Slide tickets) which wasn't worth it. I wanted to do CP on Sunday and Tuesday because everyone said those days are less crowded than on Mondays. I'm sure that's the case in the beginning and end of the season, but it seems like it doesn't make much of a difference during the busy summer months. But, I could be wrong.

On Tuesday the 10th, we rode TTD twice again and hit everything else once again. On Wicked Twister we waited for the front and moved our arms and legs throughout the entire ride to make it look like we were running. The kids in the front after us said it was the funniest thing they've seen and we watched them do it after us and it is very funny to watch. It's actually a workout.

On Wednesday we went to Geauga Lake. I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised. I didn't know they had a flying coaster. We enjoyed all the coasters and especially loved the Gotcha Games Foam Factory. We spent 2 hours in there shooting balls at kids and adults.

For anyone flying in and out of Cleveland to visit CP, I'd highly recommend taking an extra day to visit Geauga Lake. I was looking at the CP website tonight and found out about "Disaster Transport." I never heard anything about it before. Did we miss out on a good ride?

its an alright ride, nothing special...
Disaster Transport is an indoor coaster right next to the Space Spiral and Wicked Twister. I agree with Kyle that its not that great. I haven't even ridden it in probably 7-8 years because it always seems to have a longer wait than it's worth.

Disaster Transport is located right next to Troika, Space Spiral, Big Wheel, and Wicked Twister. It's in that big white building, its just a indoor kiddie coaster. The wait times are extremely long for some reason. You could probably ride TTD before you could get on DT.

There are 2 things about DT....

One - It was better when it was still Avalanche Run......

Two - It has A/C during those Hot, Ohio summer days...At least what Ohio people THINK is Hot.

As for a good ride - Not really. I liked it better when the Jumbo Jet was there (where DT is now). I, personally, think they should take DT out and put some of the "Family Friendly" type rides back in.... The Schwabenchen or Bayern Kurve perhaps....! *** Edited 8/18/2004 8:06:34 PM UTC by Screamin Eagle2*** *** Edited 8/18/2004 8:17:48 PM UTC by Screamin Eagle2***

Right, since the wait for Disaster Transport is consistently at least an hour long, not counting the frequent down-time. I must say the break from the heat in the nice, air-conditioned halls is not a problem for me.
