8/31/03 - Finally TTD

Well I have been to the Point 2 times this season and have ridden everything there a few times but never TTD (it was always down). So my dad and I decided we would head up and try to get on TTD and anything else was a bonus.

So we left Toledo about 7:45 ate some breakfast and arrived to the Point around 9:30. We were just in time to hear the playing of God Bless America and then they opened the gates and everyone started to pile in. Since our main goal was TTD we headed straight for it. The wait was long, past Power Tower to around Corkscrew. We hopped in line and in about 2 hours we found ourselves making the decision to wait for the front seat. It was about another 30-40 minutes and we were seated in the front seat of the gold train.

I was pretty nervous but more excited than anything. We go up to the Christmas Tree and we move back a few inches, the plates lower and then the lights go down and were off. I couldn’t believe how fast it seemed like we were going only about half way down the launch track, but we kept getting faster! So then we went up, straight up and crested the top hat and then looked straight down 400 feet. What a rush! And before I knew it we were into the brakes and it was over. It was kind of a blur at that point so all I could think of was "I have to do that again", my dad agreed.

TTD defiantly takes Millennium Force's #1 spot on my list. 11/10

We bought our picture, put it in a locker and decided that Magnum was our next target. The sign said 1/4 hour and it turned out to be exactly that. Sat in the ejector seat and found out that Magnum didn’t seem as cool after TTD. I still love this ride though, it’s just classic.

Magnum 9/10

After Magnum we walked to the front to try one of my dad's favorite rides, Wicked Twister. We waited about 45 minutes which is the longest I have waited this season and got the back row. This ride is truly underrated.

Wicked Twister 8/10 We hit Chaos and then decided it was time for lunch. A foot long hot dog, some fries and an orange drink later we walked around the park for a little while letting our food digest. We thought a ride on Millennium Force was a good idea.

The sign said 1 1/2 hours which was ok so we got in line and about after a 2 hour wait we were in line for the back car on the blue train. Personally I love MF in the front car but the back was better than I expected it to be. The same great ride it always gives and I could ride it all day.

Millennium Force 10/10

By this time my dad and I were itching to get on TTD again so we got back in line and it was alot shorter than this morning. It was only to about the grandstands. The line was moving at a good speed and then we feel very small little rain drops. Then the announcement that it is down due to weather. Anyone else there on Sunday know what I mean by this rain was very weird, it like rained but not enough to even get you wet. Well after about an hour rain delay they launched a train to the cheers of everyone. It was on the top hat, paused for about 5 seconds on top then slowly rolled backwards. They reset everything and had about 2 more rollbacks then on the 4th launch everyone was chanting for it to make it over and it barely did. About 3 more launches of making it over and then they started loading again with the back 3 rows empty. They made it over and gradually they got all the rows loaded. Just as they were starting to get a good pace going I feel some of those stupid little drops again shortly followed by the dreaded announcement. About another hour and 15 minutes of rain and then they launched another train. They went through more rollbacks and stuff so it took them along time to get the thing going. So then they load some people and were off moving again. We make it through the last set of queue rails and were up the ramp and we are at the turnstiles and next to go into the station. Then those drops again! And of course another rain delay. I was so bored at this point it was insane. After about another 30 minutes of standing there they launch one train and then I hear the best thing I have heard all day. The announcement of "let’s get these trains loaded!" That was great and about 5 minutes later we were sitting in the 3rd row of the purple train. We launched and this time I remember alot more of it. The view from the top is amazing. And then it’s over. After 4 hours and 15 minutes of solid standing through rain delays I was ready to go.
