7/30 - Wet Night - PointBuzz Shirt Debut

Arrived atthe park about 9pm. Just as the rain was letting up! As we entered the park, the coasters were starting to run again. Got in 4 good quick rides on the Magnum. Does anyone else think there is too much trim? Gemini was running 1 train, and was a literal walk-on. It was cool, up the steps, into the station, and through the gate as it opened in perfect synch with our arrival. A little souvenir shopping for a family reunion gift exchange in a nearly deserted Frontier Town. White Water Landing at night is so very cool!

Wore my shiny new PointBuzz T-shirt. Met CPBound, who asked me my screen name as he was checking my restraints on the Magnum. I greatly enjoyed some of the speculative looks I got on the platform from other people when they saw the shirt. I made sure to turn around several times so people could see the logo well. :)

A humid July night, but lots of fun. A sad note, though! I saw my first Halloweekends display near the Jitney Arcade in Frontier Town. They have the Land Rover-eque vehicle parked there. I love Halloweekends, but I hate to see the displays start, because that means summer will be ending!

I was there on 7/30 also and had a great day. I was riding by myself all afternoon, so I got to move up in line all the time to fill in the single seats, so I really never had to wait. I was wearing my new Cyclone coaster shirt from Coney Island, NY, and I got many comments from people who wanted to know what it was like to ride the famous Cyclone. I later met my kids and ate dinner at Johnny Rockets. This was my first time eating there. We had great service, but I wasn't that pleased with their food, high prices, and small portions of fries (that were barely warm). I have a Johnny Rockets at my local mall, and their prices are cheaper.

I hate to hear those words, summer ending... Sounds like you had fun though.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Ginger, not to mention Southpark's Johnny Rockets' hamburgers are made the real way. Cedar Point's uses a hamburger press where at at Southpark they actually use a grill. Much better food quality.

I've been working at the Southpark Mall JR since November of 2002 & just this past off-season applied to work at Cedar Point's JR. I absolutely hated it. It didn't feel authentic. I missed the homely feeling of the mall & the quality food. You won't get bad service at Southpark mall. I guarantee it.

Y'all should come see me some time! =o)

They also have the halloweekends display up right by the walkway under Raptor. I read the sign a little and it said that Werewold Canyon will be expanded this year, and that one of the haunted houses will be called "Carnevil".

To: CdrPntDrgstr: I'll stop by the mall soon and say hello to you at JR. Maybe you can make me some hot french fries, not like the barely-warm ones at CP.

Why of course Ginger! The reason the fries at CPJR are never warm is because they make them in advance. They'll have a HUGE bin of fries that will just sit there until a ticket comes up on their printer. They then give the order of fries to the Expo people who place them with the ticket in the window & call the server.

At Southpark, the servers are responsible for making their own fries & milkshakes. We barely ever have fountain people to make the milkshakes, because our sales are only a fraction of CP's.

BTW, if you do decide to come, don't until at least after the 11th of August. I'm going on a coaster trip...CP, GL, HP, KW, PKI, DP & SFGAdv all in a week! I leave Wed. AM and come back the 11th.

(You'll know It's me at JR cause my name tag will say Cedar Point on it instead of North Royalton as where I live.)

CdrPntDrgstr: Have a fun trip. I just returned from Dorney Park; Coney Island; SFGAdv; SFAmerica in a week. I'll see ya after the 11th.

Darn, I wonder which day he'll be at PKI. I live near PKI, and I visit constantly. *** Edited 8/6/2004 1:47:08 PM UTC by Huggy Bear***
arrived at CP 10:15am July 30, almost got creamed by a car before even entering the park. I was dodging traffic to stand next to the CP sign (to have a picture taken) that's out by the main road. I rode raptor, millenium force, TTD, mantis. Sporadic rain, but it kept the temp. down. Average wait was 1 hour and each ride was worth the wait! I can't wait to get back to CP next summer.
