I got my invite two weeks ago and I was more than pumped for the night's event. I heard a rumor that I might be in the show and I was ten times more excited at the thought of seeing myself on the IMAX screen.
I got to the park and the guy and the booth mumbled about something on where I had to park. I drove into the main parking lot (which we learned was 64 acers) and parked in the section that was reserved for us. I ran into guest services and got my IDs for the event. I went through the main gate and MIA GTTPer Tyler scanned my pass and off I was to Raptor to meet Jeffrey Spartan.
I ran into Spartan and ShiveringTim and we ran over to Magnum to pick up Mindy. After we got Mindy we walked over to the IMAX exit where people were waiting to get in.
There we ran into Raptor Jo and a entire mob of Cedar Point fans and employees waitng to get into the theater. They even had Charlie Brown dressed up as a pimp and the rest of the Snoopy characters were outside to welcome us.
We all filed in and after about a 35 minute wait, Robin, Dick, Dan, and the PR Rep from the Discovery Channel said a few words and the show started.
The show was awesome. I will spare the details but my favorite things were the bugs, the mf line, me, and fascination at the end. All in all it was a kick but show and I loved it from start to finish.
After the show they hearded us over to the Coral Courtyard for what we though was going to be a Coastermania like dinner. This was the best spread of food I have ever seen at CP. This just blew away any Coastermania meal you have ever seen and it was ten times better than the food at the Millennium Force media day!
As we were leaving the reception a reporter from one of the Toledo TV stations grabbed me and asked me if I was interested in doing a debate interview with Howard G. In the show Howard has the honor of talking about MF. Anyway the reporter wants us to debate between Magnum and MF. Its going to be very interesting.
All in all it was an awesome night. I just want to thank Cedar Point for an awesome show and an awesome night. I also want to thank the Discovery Channel for not leaving my footage on the editing room floor. :) ------------- daniel j. haverlock '01 magnum: 430 "All I see is water"
