7-7 to 7-9

Just got back from CP a while ago and like always had a good time. My fam and I stayed in Camper Village, and I will have to say its a good place to stay, but the skeeters are really outta control and the flies bite like non other.

Just a typical July visit this time, nothing really stands out other than the fact that when we were getting ready to have our lapbars checked for Skyhawk, the ride op i guess somehow almost forgot about us. We were sitting there and everyone else in the other three rows were getting checked but us. Then after she checked the gates and gave a thumbs up, she realized that she forgot to check us. My lapbar was allready done, and I think it made her mad, becasue she really pushed mine down, and let me tell you.. OUCH it hurt bad. The ride was good, but was very short like others have said.

One more thing worth noting was that as we were in line for Max Air, we were littler standing infront of a ride op, and some girl weasled her way right infront of us, and the ride op said NOTHING. I was like wow, um hello. But to no avil the op did nothing but sit there and act as if she never saw it. That is another thing I have noticed alot lately-- the amount of line jumping. In the morning waiting for dragster to open, the two girls infront of my bro and I had I think 5 of there friends just walk up and join them in line. So I jokingly said to my brother sort of loud.. Hey lets call everyone from where we were staying and tell them to join us in line. Ok not so funny, but I guess you had to be there.

2 more quick notes-- Hot summer lights was a little trippy which I bet was really enjoyed by the people who we saw smoking pot right under the Corkscrew. The show had some good stuff, but was making me feel like I was high. As always the ending part with the America the beautiful gave me goosebumps, which was amazing.

Last thing my parents decided to see the Divine Divas, and my dads exact words were. Boy did that suck.

Over all a good trip, like always. I think I saw Magnum Candy Man riding Maggie, but im not sure.

Have a good one

With a name like Divine Divas I can already tell that it isn't really a show most of us guys would like. But notice I said "most".

Well he bascialy was talking about the singing and what not. The whole show in general. Which my parents both like the Red Garter shows.

You should have spoke up about the girl cutting in front of you on maXair. I wouldn't take that crap.

Ryan..I also had a ride op on Skyhawk push too hard. Think it was Sunday around 4 or so. The next few times I rode it I took in a deep breath and held breifly just before the op pushed it. Kept it pushed out just far enough to stay comfy but not unsafe. Only one side was working then and I thought she might just have been rushing it a little because of the lines .

I was wondering about why the op may not have checked our side of the swing, maybe it was because I thought we were supposed to do it ourselves (1st time on the ride) so i pushed mine down, and maybe they saw it down or thought someone checked it by sound. Maybe not. but boy was my girlfriend and brother worried.

About the Max air problem, I made a few out loud comments about it, but the Op basically just looked around acting like she couldnt hear. She was from a different country, but still she should have done something. But again, this was the first time I saw alot of line jumping, I mean it was horrible. People would cut under the metal posts (whatever there called) and cut like 10 or so people and not think twice about it. It was pretty sad.

Anybody from thes boards that goes to CP and sees line jumping should say something to the closest ride-op. Then go to park-op and file a guest complaint. That is the only way to get anything done about it. Get as many people to do it. I did last week. It is terrible this year!

Remember not to get hasty with ride-ops. It does no good. Be constructive when filing complaint. Try to say something good about the way they do things. They will have more respect and take it more seriously. *** Edited 7/13/2006 5:13:14 PM UTC by Magnum "Candy" Man***

Candy Man, I saw you there that day. Were you sitting in the ops chair before it was opened (magnum)? How many laps did you get, my brother and I were wondering?

^yep that was me. Not sure on total. I didn't keep track. But my friend did. For the 9 days, I think he said about 120 or so. Can't remember exactly. A couple of days we could have ridden much more. But we decided to just take it easy and relax. We really enjoyed ourselves.

I have to agree on the complaints. Mention it to the ops. Remember, they are people that hate confrontation as much as the rest of us. Then make a report at park ops saying line jumping was a problem at such and such ride.
Magnum is one of the worst though because of the area by the pretzel stand. It would really help to put something up along that area that would be harder to climb over. Or electrify whatever is there now.

When I see someone line jumping I usually make a scene, pointing and yelling, "hey everybody, look at the line jumper!" Then others do the same and you get like 30 people on your side. Sometimes the people are shamed into leaving. Other times, the comotion catches the attention of an op.

I agree though - don't just stand there like a goofus and let it happen and then expect that someone was watching with a secret camera and the people will get booted. Unless an op sees it or multiple people point out line jumpers to an op, you can't expect anything to come of it.

If it happens right in front of the op and they do nothing, then by all means, file a complaint because they weren't bothering to do their job.

And I totally agree with you about that fence by Magnum/Pretzle stand. That really should be a fence more similar to what you see around the queues of MF or Wicked Twister. And that freeway ramp should be dug up and grass planted there again since it just invites problems. Do they even have that thing locked? If not, it should be. *** Edited 7/14/2006 11:17:05 PM UTC by MDOmnis***

Matt - the gate to the Freeway is locked. I saw security go through it though. So I guess they have a key to it.

I think a couple of land-mines would be nice! :)

Land mines and few big dogs.
