Arrived at the park around noon with very hot but nice weather. The parking lot was not stretching past 28 in the center, and went way back in the sides.
Magnum: 5 minute wait. As usual I went by all the people waiting for the front and went for the second car. There seemed to be someone at the top of the stairs checking heights, but not limiting how many people could go into the station. I wish he would... Great ride overall. As long as I'm not in 1:3 I can always see how this ride ranks so highly. The pretzel loop wasn't bad today at all. Very smooth and nice airtime.
Mantis: 40 minute wait. This line was moving faster than I've ever seen it. Great job ops! I really don't mind standing in this que, so the wait went by quickly. Waited for front car, and still got off in 40 minutes. I've found that by sticking my head to one side (depending on where the train will throw you) I can have a Raptor smooth ride which can make this a great coaster. The brake run seemed to be on pretty hard, along with the trims, which caused a lot of discomfort among the riders but I had a very smooth and intense ride. I still don't know why they couldn't add some type of new padding like on Iron Wolf at SFGAm. It could make the ride 10x better.
Millennium Force: 40 minute wait. Line moved pretty quickly and there was plenty of shade so I didn't mind. I didn't see the DJ, but maybe it was just as I was walking past. Got second car on the yellow train. The ride seemed to be a bit more jolty after the first tunnel, but I think the heat made me a little more sensitive to it because as I tried to relax the joltiness went away. Great ride as usual. Definately number 1 in my books.
Train: Walk on. Due to Tony and Tyler's suggestion, I took the train around to see the new construction. Not much to see, but it does look like they are working on supports for some banked turns. They also had many supports laid out by footers. Based on the overbanked turn just to the right of the train exit, I'm thinking that will be the ending portion of the ride, and the lift (or launch) will go out twoards Thunder Canyon. Its hard to tell while moving on the train though.
Mean Streak: 5 minute wait. The trims were on so hard, the drop was almost non-existant. Very rough, but I still think its an ok ride. Certainly not worthy of being torn down in my opinion (yet).
Train: 5 minute wait. Took the train back over twoards the front end of the park to get to Raptor.
Raptor: 40 minute wait. They obviously hadn't changed the que line setup since the beginning of the day because it was rediculous. They made people walk through 2 differant sections (the middle section and the back right section) to get to the left section by the stairs where the line actually was. People would then start to climb over the ques but this made everything a mess. No employee was in sight and again no DJ (understaffed today?). Unbelieveable ride. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite coasters. While others seem to keep getting rougher, this one is so smooth and quite intense. For the first time I actually enjoyed the zero-g roll. I love zero-g rolls, but never enjoyed this one (always seemed rough and just not in line with other zero-g rolls). This time the element was as smooth as the rest of the ride and I really loved its intensity. We were then stuck on the end of the brake run for maybe 10 minutes due to a "guest illness". Never been stuck or stopped on any ride before so I was happy.:) Stacking seemed to be really bad today. I don't know what the problem was. While one train was in the station the other two trains were stacked on the brake run. This made the line move much slower. The line was really horrible. They really need to add some shade by the Blue Streak area.
Top Thrill Dragster: 58 minute wait. Line looked long and sign said 1.5 hours, but no breakdowns occured and the line moved quickly. Great ride as usual. Can't beat that launch. Trains seemed to be going over the top exceedingly fast today.
Power Tower Space Shot: Walk on. Enjoyable ride for a walk on, but not nearly as good as Turbo Drop (which had a more substantial line) or Superman Tower of Power at SFOT which combines Space Shot and Turbo Drop into one. Nice breeze on the ride!
Raptor: 30 minute wait. Stacking wasn't as bad this time, but they still had the rediculous que setup, so the line was only 30 minutes. Another great ride, just as the first one, but I would have loved some shade by Blue Streak.
Left the park at 6:00pm. Overall, a great day. Crowds were there but not overwhelming. Got on a lot of rides and had a nice day at the Point.
