Headed off to CP with some friends for a day trip. After a slight navigational error, Gabi, Sheila, and I finally arrived at 10:30. We took a ride on TTD first thing, with about an hour wait. Once again, it was running beautifully. I didn’t see a single rollback, and I only noticed one 10 or 15 minute downtime. We rode Mantis next with a 45 minute wait, and then walked on Iron Dragon and Wildcat. We took a break for sandwiches at the car, and then headed over to the other side of the park and rode Magnum. After Magnum, we decided that we needed a quick cool down, so we rode WWL. We were disappointed that we didn’t get wetter, but were unwilling to get soaked on either of the other water rides. Sheila and I took a quick ride on CCMR while Gabi sat it out for reasons logical only to her. We were about to get in line for Gemini, when it went down due to what I heard was a sensor error. Gabi and I headed down and rode Monster, hoping that Gemini would come back up, but the first test train they sent though got stopped at the same part the first train had been stuck at. Instead, we headed toward the front and Gabi and I rode Maxair. I had another great ride in seat 13 (I knew there was a reason it was my lucky number). We then decided to head back to check on Gemini because I insisted that it couldn’t be missed. We ended up riding it twice in a row, the second time splitting up so Sheila and I were racing Gabi’s train. That was the most fun I’ve ever had on that ride. Me and my competitive streak… We stopped at Johnny Rockets and grabbed some dinner. I’ve been at other Johnny Rockets before, and I wasn’t really impressed with the food they served up there. The chili cheese fries they gave us were ice cold. After dinner, Gabi and Sheila wanted to head home because we were supposed to leave right around then, and they didn’t want to ride anything with a full stomach, but I said I couldn’t leave until I’d used my 8-9 Freeway for MF. I ran back by myself while they went to the car, and got in line in front of a woman so obnoxious that she almost made me wish that I’d decided just to go home. I stuck it out though, and had a great ride as usual. All in all it was a good day. We were slightly disappointed that WT was still down, but we’ll just hit it twice next time we go.
