Actual date 6/29, sorry for the mix up.
I'll try not to bore everyone with every little detail and just give some observations. This was my niece's first trip to CP, so it was pretty exciting that she chose me to take her there. First observation was that more supports were being unloaded by BE.
We started easy like, with a trip on Iron Dragon. First time I ever saw ID stacking. No biggie, just a little weird. Then after WC, we went back Frontier Trail. Still looks good back there. TC and SRF not open yet. Again, no biggie, we could hit them later.
We heard it before we saw it. Skyhawk of course. The ride looks good, nicely landscaped, but was a bit loud to fit the surroundings. The antique cars are loud too, but their sound seems to fit more with the area than Skyhawk's does. Awesome ride though.
Checked out the construction site and I don't know anymore now, than when I was only seeing the pics posted here on PB.
Got a nearly flawless ride on Gemini, as always. Four trains, minimal stacking.
My partner wanted to hit Dragster before something caused it to go down. This was our first time since Dragster was built that we've been to the park when it was running. Since my niece wasn't up for Dragster yet, my partner and my sister went there and I took my niece to visit Maggie. Of course, Maggie said a proper hello to my niece and I bought the on-ride photo to prove it. I'll always love that picture.
Next we hit Corkscrew. I don't see the big deal with the new belts. No problem buckling them. Didn't get hit in the face with them while getting out. More secure ride for me, even with no past restraint issues. Stacking wasn't that bad either.
Met up with the others and now it was my turn for Dragster. Looked at my sister's shaking hands and I knew this would be a wild ride. 30 minute wait and I found out what this ride is about. I kind of owe Adam and Gomez an apology because I never quite understood their love of this ride. Now I do! Dragster did manage to smack my left ear off of the headrest, caused a new piercing to start bleeding! "Take that," she said!
Raptor running great, front seat ride, terrified niece and sister, priceless.
MF running like the beast that she is, and a ride crew just kicking a**. Thanks for the effort guys, it really shows.
Mantis was typical Mantis, although the crew was doing a good job trying to hit interval, without being rude, I might add. Mantis boxed my ears pretty good in the entrance to the corkscrew.
Ate at Midway Market as several of you suggested. Good value with the coupon. Food ok, problem with rowdy goup of post-teens. Manager reprimanded them once then disappeared. Waitress asked us if we were alright, we just left. They weren't hurting anyone, just spoiling the atmosphere.
Rode CP&LERR around to let dinner settle and to see the other side of the construction site. I still don't know anymore.
Did MF for our last ride, it was dark now. Glad I didn't ride front seat as those who did returned black with bugs! Exited and just caught the last 15 minutes of the Summer Spectacular. With the firewater, I felt like I was at a KISS concert. Spectacular is a well fitting word. Good show.
Perfect weather. Smaller Crowd. Family Fun. That's as near perfect day as I can hope for. Thanks CP

Just fyi for the next time you go. Before your friends enter any lengthy wait for a ride or coaster (like Dragster) you could have gotten a Parent Swap pass, so when they get off the ride they give you the pass since you had to wait with your neice, then you just walk up the exit ramp, give the pass to a ride op to sign it, pick a seat, and ride without waiting in line. *** Edited 7/2/2006 3:50:29 AM UTC by ttdboy111***
