Then, we were onward to Mantis - it was my first ride of the season on it, plus my first time ever in the front row. It still tends to kill my legs going through the inversions, but it was fun nonetheless. We walked over to Power Tower and waited for the green side next. This time, I counted how many seconds a cab hung up there before being dropped so by the time it was our ride, I was prepared. Well, forget that! I'd lost several pounds since my last time on it (2 weeks ago), so when we were dropped, I screamed anyway. I'd lost enough weight for my silly self to be thrown out of the seat and against the shoulder harnesses. Wow!
While searching for a CoasterBuzzer who's now working at the park - Kara - we rode the Matterhorn, which as it turns out, was where Kara was working. OldCPer & I made jokes about how "close" we got together on our trip to CP since the forces were throwing her into me on the ride. lol Rode Corkscrew, then OldCPer & I headed off toward Magnum XL 200. (I was thrilled to find out I'd be able to ride Top Thrill Dragster because I could now be strapped into the seat, if the ride were running. Her son and his girlfriend ended up in line behind us after all, but several trains later on the Magnum. Had lunch on the main midway, then the 4 of us split up for the afternoon. OldCPer and I went to see how the line was for Wicked Twister, but as it turns out, I still can't quite comfortably ride that one just yet. The line was long, so OldCPer figured she'd wait 'til later.
We rode the thrill ride, Chaos instead. That was a hoot - I was laughing uncontrollably, 'til I was crying, once our car started spinning. Saw the high-dive show, then went back toward the main midway. We took on the Wildcat, which I don't think I've been on in 10 years. lol These two ladies caught us at the exit and asked if it was scary. We said no, but then they told us they were afraid on the Mine Ride. We suggested they give the Wildcat a try anyway.
Took the train back to Frontiertown and saw the Rock & Roll revue at the Palace Theater (formerly Lusty Lil's). The show was great!
We waited about a 1/2 hour for Meanstreak. The ride ops were in rare form, calling it the "Top Thrill Meanstreak" and mocking the recorded voice for TTD telling everyone to "sit back, put your hands down and hold on" as we pulled out of the station. Personally, I thought it was a less rough of ride than 2 weeks ago. OldCPer explained all the ins&outs of why it doesn't run like it did 10 years ago. Not nearly as fast as it once was, but it was better to me than its been in a long time.
Had a blast on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride; it was the "teeny bopper" train. We were surrounded by kiddos, it seemed. lol But still, we acted screwy on it, and screamed and carried on as though it was a scary coaster. That was fun. We went to Gemini and rode the blue side, which lost. Woodstock Express came next - was my first time on this ride too (lots of firsts on this trip!). A very cute little kiddie coaster that the big kids are allowed on.
We also went to Paddlewheel Excursions but the captains seemed to be in a funk; they said their spiel and that was it... So, we moved back along to Corkscrew and rode that again. OldCPer and I crashed at our meeting spot, underneath Corkscrew's loop, to wait for the rest of our party. It turned out they were sitting on the other side of the bushes, after we'd sat and waited a while. lol His girlfriend's stomach was upset, so after a walk up the midway toward Raptor, we decided to just call it a day. OldCPer drove home so the "kids" could relax and rest in the backseat. At her house, she had to prove to me that she could do the Digital Dance Revolution game - her match-up against Jeff from CoasterBuzz at PKI didn't go so well.
All in all, a very great wonderful day at CP.

Just an add on to her report, that was the first trip I got to spend some time watching the shows. Generally I'm with people who want to ride, crowds or not, and prefer to avoide the shows.
Splash! was fun, and I can't imagine someone diving from a little tiny platform 80 feet in the air. Actually, I can't even imagine someone climbing the tiny support TO the platform. Even the people in line for Wicked Twister were all turned around watching.
I'd highly recommend Heart of Rock n Roll as well. Very entertaining and some great talent.
