6/11/03. Big crowds, great rides, and some strange

So I went to Cedar Point yesterday for the first time since 2001. I figured there would be light crowds since it's a Wednesday and the day after I got out of school, so it's early in the year and in the middle of the week. What I did not forsee is the posibility of school trips. There were very few cars in the parking lot, but there were a TON of schoolbusses. It felt like a Saturday. To make matters worse, TTD would be down all day, and it looked like it might rain.

Well, I decided to hit MF first, thinking it would be less crowded. It wasn't, and the sign said 1 1/4 hour, which it would say all day long and be pretty accurate. So I go in line, and after waiting for a little over an hour, I hopped in to the second row, ready for my awesome ride on Millenium Force. It's been 2 years since I rode this thing and I nearly forgot just how steep it pulls you up, and how fast. Before I new it, I was at the top, and oh what a drop it is. It seemed to last an eternity. The rest of the ride was just sheer excitement, and the other hills had alot more airtime on them than I remember from my last time. But this was an awesome ride, and easily the best I've ever ridden. 10/10

Next we were gonna go accross and hit Mantis, but the sign said 1.5 hour wait, so we decided to come back for that. Instead we rode Power Tower up. I had never gone up on PT, just down, so this was a new experience. And it was really good. Lotsa fun. I think I waited like 25 minutes for it though. 8.5/10

Now we decided to make our way back to the picnic area, since I was meeting my parents up there at 2:00 for some lunch. We still had lots of time though, so went to Blue Streak first. To our dismay, it had a FULL LINE. That's right, a FULL LINE. half the fun of blue streak is not having to wait for it!!! So seeing a long line is frustrating, and we just left. Let's try Wicked Twister instead.

WT had about a 30 minute wait, which is surprising considering the low capacity and the crowds. The line moved faster than I thought it would, and before I knew it, I was on. I was surprised by how good this ride is. It's faster than it looks, and the launch was incredible. Very intense and very good ride. I have to commend the crew on this ride for their efficiency also. 9/10

It's about 1:00 right now, and we check out Raptor. The wait is like an hour so we decide to do that after lunch since we won't have the time. We ride Demon Drop instead. Waited 15-20 minutes. fun ride as always. 8/10

So now it's like 1:25 and my friend wants to go to a gift shop and find a bear for his girlfriend... heh. He asks me which one he should get and I'm like, "dude, you really want advice from me??? I'd re-think that if I were you...". So while he's looking, I get a souvenir map to hang in my room.

So now we go to the picnic area and eat some hot dogs and cheesburgers that my dad grilled. Good stuff. After lunch it's time to get back and hit some more rides. Walking through the park, I realize that the millions of schoolbusses weren't all a bad thing. There were alot of really hot girls... hehe. Anyways, back to the rides.

Raptor is next. We waited about an hour for it. I stood behind a couple of 45 year old perverts who were checking out some girl in the line. She couldn't have been more than like 15 or 16 either. So that's rather disgusting. I mean, I'll admit I was lookin' at her some, but I'm 15... and they were like 45... so that is just wrong. Someone should report them dangit. Anyways, the ride. I waited about an hour, which is more than I thought I'd wait but is certainly worth it. But all I can say is that this is the best it has EVER run. It just blew me away. I'm glad they turned off the MCB's, because the end of the ride is just SO FAST now. I absolutely loved it. This is my number 2 ride, and only to Millenium Force does it fall short of number one. The line moves VERY fast as well. I was quite impressed. 10/10

Next up is Mantis. The sign says it's 1.5 hours. Still. But the line is alot farther in front of the sign, so it's a little less than that. But it was moving so slow. Only 2 trains, and they weren't getting them out very fast either. But this was easily the most 'interesting' line experience of the day, or maybe ever. After the first part of the line when you cross into the second section, these girls behind us must have gotten bored, because they just out of nowhere started throwing themselves at me and my friend. And I seriously mean THROWING THEMSELVES in the litteral meaning of the word... if any guy had acted that way to a girl, he probably would have been arrested, haha. It was funny at first, but got really annoying after a while. I figured I'd ignore them and they'd go away. Unfourtunately, we're standing in a line, so they aren't going away. Oh well, it was interesting... But anways, the ride itself. Last time I was here, I rode mantis twice and loved it. But this time it was just so painful. I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't. It just hurt so bad. I think I might not have been in quite right though. 6/10

Next up is Magnum. Waited a little under 30 minutes, which I guess is tolerable. Great ride as always. I got stapled though, unfourtunately. And Maggie hasn't really aged gracefully either. It was rough. But still a good ride. 8/10

Poor Dragster, it looked so lonely all by itself with no one to ride it... but boy did that thing look huge. I would love to go on that sucker... Well, we had just enough time for one more major ride before we meet up with my parents in the picnic area for some supper at 7:00. We decide to get another ride on millenium force. Waited a little over an hour again, and we sat in the 2nd to last row. Awesome ride as usual. 10/10

After eating some sandwiches and stuff for supper, it's back to the rides. By this time, most of the schools are leaving, so we have shorter lines. Back to Raptor, which is only 15 minutes at this point. Again, it ran the best it's ever run. I love this thing. 10/10

Next up, Blue Streak. There's no line for it now, so I ride seat 1.3, which I've heard is the best, so I'll try it out. Very fun ride as always. My friend said it was a waste of 5 minutes though, but what does he know... 8/10

We have time for one more ride on Millenium Force. Wanted to wait for the front, but I had to leave at 9:30 so there was no time. Got the second row instead. It was almost dark, and what a ride it was. By far the best ride of the day. 10/10

Hi's - no rain. 3 rides on MF. Raptor running so well. Cedar Point always has the hottest girls.

Low's - Crowded, too hot during the day. too cold at night. Mantis was a disappointment. not getting front seat on MF. TTD being down.

Awesome day, the best I've ever had at an amusement park. Cedar Point is the greatest park ever, even without Dragster.

Glad you had a good time. People do need to realize that even though TTD might be down there are a ton of others rides that are great.
