This was my second visit to the park this season and it was easily the best visit this season, if not my favorite from the past few (granted I was working there the past few seasons). The weather was almost perfect, the crowds were moderate, but manageable, and as was noted in a previous TR for this date, operator spiels have returned on several rides as a result of the change in loose article policies. It was wonderful to hear spieling again on Blue Streak, Magnum, and other rides that had fallen victim to the monotonous boring auto-spiels. Obviously the auto-spiels remained on MF and TTD but something was really noticeable to me in the park. It seemed that at least 85% of the employees were actually excited to be working at the park. I had several employees asking me how my day was going, and some ride hosts, after checking my restraints, told me to have a great ride. It also seemed that the MF crew was really picking up speed. I saw interval being hit many times throughout the day. Finally, before getting on Dragster for my second ride of the day, the ride hosts were getting the station doing the "slow clap" to get excited about riding. Even the control operator was saying "Detroit" in the microphone and getting everyone to yell "Basketball." Even though the ride went down mechanical before I could ride, and I'm not a huge Pistons fan, it still just made the park seem that much more alive. This is the kind of stuff that makes me love CP. Obviously the ride collection is world class, but when you have a great experience as a guest with the staff, it makes the day even better. Today was a day that made me proud to have worked at the park for two seasons. Here's the ride tally for the day, and wait times.
Blue Streak - 1 - 5 minutes
Gemini - 1 - Walk-On
Magnum - 4 - 5 minutes
Mantis - 1 - 10 minutes
Millennium Force - 1 - 1.25 hours
Raptor - 4 - 5 to 30 minutes
TTD - 1 - 1 hour
Wicked Twister - 1 - 10 minutes
maXair - 2 - 35 minutes
Power Tower (Down) - 2 - 5 minutes
I don't know if it has been mentioned in a previous thread, but I noticed that Chaos was dissasembled almost completely yesterday. Does anyone know the reason for this?
Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004
Hadn't heard anything about that. Might it have something to do with the incident on a Chaos at Clementon Park? Maybe they were inspecting the restraints. Or installing seatbelts. ;);)
Glad to hear some good things about the park. Hopefully some of the stir on here recently has made people take notice. I really hope they don't bother bringing back the autospiels. I mean if it was really that big of a deal legally, wouldn't they have already converted Raptor, Mean Streak, Mine Ride, etc already? I mean Magnum was done for almost two full seasons when they removed it. I hope someone sees the positives of this change and it sticks permenantly.

Yeah the disassembling of Chaos is most likely due to the recent mishaps with the ride. and personally the autospiels get annoying after standing near the station and hearing them for more than 3-5 dispatches. The pistons thinhs sounds like it would get everyone going. to bad they lost :(
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
so i'm really late in reading your trip report, but i wanted to comment. its great to hear such positive things about the park again. i know i've been getting really perturbed with CP and the changes they've been making lately. but, after your trip report, i have renewed confidence in them and their employees.
YAY for CP!! :)
