My new wife and I made the trip up from Texas and checked into Lighthouse Point cottage #15 on Monday the 21st. We absolutely LOVED the cottages! The views, both of the lake and the park, were wonderful! The cottage itself was much nicer than I had expected also.
5/22: The day didn't start off the best. The wife woke up sick, but said she was going to have a good day at the park no matter what. We buy our tickets and are in the park at about 5 till 10:00. "Let's start off easy," she says while I stare longingly at Magnum's lift. "Ok," she says, "Let's do Magnum." :) We walk right up to the platform and I made a bee-line for seat 1-3 for the first train out of the day. I've never been on the first train of any ride ever. I felt special. :) I had tried for the ejector seat last year, but I think I ended up in 3-3 or 3-1. This year I knew for sure which one it was! MAN! That was the best ride of my life on ANY ride!! We went ahead and wandered around and took a ride on MF. We maybe waited 15 minutes, not too bad. We did ID, CCMR, BS, and DT. We also had a good 3 rides on Gemini. That's always been a sentimental favorite of mine, so I love riding it. We rode in the middle seat in the last car. I LOVE that seat! Gemini, Magnum, and MF pretty much get equal love as my favorite coasters ever.
With the little lady being a little qeesy, I pretty much wrote off the idea of riding Mantis, Corkscrew, Raptor and Mean Streak. We just kinda wandered around half the day taking our time and seeing a lot of stuff we usually wouldn't see. We rode all the car rides and the train.
We made a stop at Midway Market in the middle of the day for lunch. What an amazing idea to have a buffet at an amusement park!! Great place!
We rode PT-down and that just ruined the rest of the day. That did not agree with her at all, so we had to leave a little early.
It wasn't a bad day, considering the circumstances of her sickness. The weather wasn't too bad. It was chilly, the first time I've ever ridden coasters with pants and a sweatshirt, and rainy all day. But the rain wasn't anything to worry about. It was more of a heavy sprinkle. You could stand in it for an hour and not be anything but damp.
5/23: Again we started the day off with Magnum. We walked around toward MF again and had to stop. She was getting sick again. We ended up having to leave. :( I thought the day was ruined and that we wouldn't make it back. We went back in the early afternoon. Again we just took it easy. We took a boat ride around the lagoon. Our driver had some super-corny jokes, but he was pretty entertaining. We were up at the front of the park when my wife surprised the crap out of me and said she wanted to do Raptor! "Are you sure?!?" She was sure. So, we did. I'm so glad we did! Each time I ride it reminds me how much I really love that ride! She made it through the ride and was just fine afterwards. She did require a bit of a break, so we went and made a lap on the train to slow down. After the train it was on to MF for our final ride of the day. After the MF ride, it was nearing closing time. We went and got the souveniers that I wanted and headed for the gate. While walking past Magnum, I noticed there was NO line. Well, she knew I wanted to, so I went and jumped in line.
Waiting for 1-3, a guy and his kid in 1-2 asked if I'd like to go in front of them. "No way, dude! I GOTTA have this seat!" He was confused so I had to explain it to him. I glanced over and one of the ride-op chicks was just smiling really big listening to me talk about the ejector seat. hehe
The weather this day was the same as the day before. Light rain and chilly all day, but still a good day. The crowds were a bit heavier due to all the handicapped people in the park, but it still wasn't bad at all. All subsequent trips to the park will be during the off-peak season if possible. I also plan to stay in a cottage at LHP if possible! That was a great stay!
Once we got back to Texas the wife went to the doctor to find out what's wrong. It turns out she's been sick because she's pregnant. Looks like we'll have another coaster junkie coming soon. :) We'll definately have to share the CP magic with our little one.
Wow!!! COngratulations 1badgmc! That's awesome news.

Thanks, Eric. We had planned to wait a few years, but oh well. I just wish her sickness would have waited a week. ;)

I hope this doesn't happen to you, but after my wife had our twins in '98, she put the kibosh on any thrill rides for her. "They make me sick to even look at!" Boy was I bummed. Oh well, I have two little ones I am priming into coaster freaks. :)
