5/16/02 Horrible

Got there early for the ERT, which now stand for "exclusive rideless time." Ran into Sparty and he was seeming to enjoy his Exclusive rideless time for the week. WT and MF were not up 2 days in a row for "ERT" and MF has not given ERT in 4 days.

Both MF and WT stayed down so that was pointless. Got to walk around an empty park for 30 minutes. We got to Magnum at 10 and surprise! That's not going to work either today.

First ride of the day was on Gemini. Took a lap on Mean Streak which felt like it was running slower than ever. Went up to the front and Raptor was not going either. So here we have all the golden ticket rides down for the count. Since nothing was running we moved onto the highlight of the day which was the x-man multiplayer game in the arcade.

WT was running by then and to my surprise it was only a 10 minute wait. What's the deal? I look back and see magnum going so we go back there. After a good somewhat stapled ride in 1-3, that went down again. MF is running now, lets go over there. Soon as we are about to get in line I notice it has not been going and I hear the oh so common "Millennium Force is now down due to technical difficulties."

For the first time ever I left and empty park because none of the rides were going. I was considering doing a Gemini 100 but there was not enough time :). I am glad I left because there is a big green blob attacking CP on the Radar. Look out!

Why in the heck was everything closed down...I could see M-Force having a bit of trouble due to the rollback and stuff, but Magnum and Raptor again?? What's going on? Was it really that windy out today for them to close...again?! :( :(

Raptor was wind I know, it was blowing from the bay (SW). Don' know what was the deal with Magnum but it probably wasn't wind. I have been there before when it has seemed really windy and magnum was open. When magnum was up the trims were on so I doubt it was wind.
Sorry you missed out on Millie, Joe. We stuck it out (see my trip report) and got two great rides in succession. MF was running at about 2:30 as well. When we left, the only ride not running was Raptor, due to the wind.

This is a shame, do you guys predict they will have everything running on Saturday? Is it even a good idea to go to Millennium Force first if it dosen't open early anymore?

Im a lurker....

I wouldn't bet the bank on it being open. It's been running in the morning when it's supposed to what, 2/7 days? I wont be there so maybe there is a chance it will be running.

I would get there around 11, get a freeway stamp and come back later. This morning they were cycling it forever so just because you see it running does not mean it will be up soon.

This is the first time I've been at CP with more than one ride down, and even those have been rare. Guess I've just been lucky.

Don't know what to tell ya for Millie. They are obviously having troubles with the trains. Most of the time this morning was waiting for them to put yellow on with the dummies. I would imagine that takes some time. After yellow ran one time, they did nothing for about 15 minutes, then moved it back to the transfer track, and cycled blue and red, then opened.

They still have another day to work on it, but I wouldn't bet for sure it will be running consistently on Saturday.

I was at the point all day and around 5:00 when it started raining, all the rides were running. We rode Millie in the rain - never again!- but there was no wait. Then we rode Raptor in the rain around 7:00 and left. I think it is funny how all the rides were down during the day and then when the rain comes they opened up. Oh well! We had a great time!

I had 12 walk-on rides on WT in the pouring rain that day. That was around 6:30 PM. WT was crazy in the rain. I had a really good day in the park... I had good timing except for the ERT which was not avoidable.

Yeah I know, I spelled Millennium wrong, so lay off! j/k
