5/13/00 Trip Report

We left Columbus at about 7. It was raining a good portion of the ride up, which had us worried. Luckily, the rain cleared up. We got to Cedar Point at about 9:30, 9:45ish, and waited in the season pass line. It was terribly unorganized. We waited over an hour. The coupon recomeendid to pick it up early, but we couldnt drive up earlier.

We finally got in the park and headed for Millennium Force. The sign at first said a six hour wait but they changed it to four. Although, the line was only 2:45. We saw the yellow train on the transfer track. It still had the water-filled dummies inside it. I had to buy a pop from the machines halfway through, although it cost me four dollars because the damn machine ate my money. Oh-well, it was a good pepsi. :)

We couldnt get the very front seat so we settled for the very back. We rode in the blue train. The ride was incredible! It was like nothing I had ever experienced. The first hill was just amazing. The whole ride really kept its FAST pace. The finale was the best of any roller coaster. The most amazing thing to me was that EVERYONE on the train put their hands in the air. When we got back into the station everyone was cheering like I have never heard after a ride. We bought the picture, it was a pretty good one. I had my hands in the air was giving the peace sign with both hands (as usual). Needless to say, I have a new number one roller coaster (sorry Raptor).

On a side note - there were a lot of security gaurds who let people in-and-out of the lines to go to the bathroom, which I thought was really cool.

We then hit Iron Dragon. Still a good ride. We sat towards the back. The wait was only five minutes.

We went out to our car to eat lunch next (cheaper, healthier, and better than park food).

We went over to Gemini next. It seemed alittle slower than usual. None-the-less, it was still a great ride. The line was about 10 minutes.

We went over to Magnum next. The line was 45 minutes. We rode in the ejector seat and I've gotta say it was the WORST ride I have ever had on Magnum. The first hill was good but the rest of the ride was terrible. My knees were killing me after the ride. I've rode the ejector-seat before and I dont remember it being at all like that. Oh-well.

We went over to Gemini again. Then headed back to Mean Streak. Again the line was 45 minutes. It was the best ride I have ever had on this roller coaster. The end was still pretty poor, and the ride was still rough, but it was a lot more fun than I remember it being.

We went back to the car and ate dinner. A lot of the rides were having problems due to the wind. Millennium Force was closed for awhile, as was Raptor, and Blue Streak.

We saw Blue Streak start running again from our car so we reentered the park. It was a great ride as usual. A true classic ride.

We went over by Raptor and I realized why this ride would have problems with the wind. The train has very little speed going into the trims. If there wasnt a fully loaded train ya' never know what might happen. We talked with the ride ops for alittle bit about what it was like to work at Cedar Point and what you had to do to get to the "big rides". I learned a lot. I am interested in becoming an employee in a few years. There were ten crazy people who had been sitting on the Raptor steps for over 3 and a half hours when we left.

Also, the Sky Ride baskets look terrible.

Lowlights: Raptor (I still love ya'), Magnum, the season pass center, and smoking. Smoking was terrible in the Magnum and Mean Streak lines. I cannot believe how inconsiderate people are. Apparently, some people still have trouble reading the clear print "Smoking is cause for removal from the park."

HIGHLIGHTS!: Millennium Force, Millennium Force, Millennium Force. Did I meantion Millennium Force?

I didnt spot any "Guide To The Point" T-Shirts but I am sure a lot of you were there.

I'll be back for a three-day vacation in June. CANT WAIT!

Once I get 25 million dollars I think I will build Millennium Force in my back yard.

Quick question for ya Tu, you say in your post that "Smoking is cause for removal from the park."
. Do you mean smoking *anywhere* in the park, or just in line for a ride? I understand the need to not smoke in line (though it's gonna be a bugger holding back while waiting for MF), it's rude and inconsiderate, but not being able to sit and smoke in an area free of others seems a bit heavy handed. Thanks for the info. :-)

I dont have a problem with people smoking in the park, because I can avoid them. In lines, I am forced to be next to whomever is smoking and it gets annoying.
If you want more info here is a long discussion about it:

Sorry for the missunderstanding! :)
I saw one GTTP shirt. I think it was Jeff. Jeff, were you walking past Gemini, and then standing in front of the Magnum queue doing pelvic thrusts while talking to a tall guy with a beard with a blue shirt around 7 on Saturday? I think it was you but I didn't want to go over and ask because I didn't want to be rude. Maybe some of you saw me, I was wearing a hawaiian shirt, kind of a khaki color, jean shorts, and sandals. Anyways, on to the big story, MF! Due to pure luck, I was able to ride front car, front seat my first time at 3:00 and car 5, front seat the second time at 10:00. It was intense and very smooth. I was yelling so loud I lost my voice! It is number one on my list now! Then we hit Iron Dragon, which was very boring because I was still stoked from MF. We rode the Giant Wheel next and the wind was blowing so hard that our doors were blowing open! I also found out that there is a parking lot on top of Fasination that I've never noticed. After that was Power Tower, Corkscrew, Chaos (no restraint malfunctions!), Magnum (rougher than usual), Gemini, and then the night cap of MF. It was even cooler at night, in two ways. The dark made the ride even better and the temp had dropped into the high 50's! All in all, it was a great trip! Can't wait until Thursday for Fisicks Day! (anyone want to help me with my packet? Jeff, Dan, Dave, anyone?) To comment on the smoking, it was pretty bad in the MF line but it didn't bug me too much. *** This post was edited by BradwagsCP on 5/15/2000. ***

I read this whole thread wondering why a 5/13 would be so busy. And a 4 hour wait for MF. GEEZ...

I never thought about looking what year it was. I don't like when people do this.

Oh my... a 4 hour wait for Millennium Force! Thats crazy...I really hope the line dies down by june or July sometime, cause im planning to head up about 2-3 times, pretty much to just ride the Force, and i'm praying the line isn't long. Maybe like a 1-1.5 hrs at the most would be great!

thank you.....and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!

Full_Force_2000: You might be a little confused (I know I was when I first read this report)...The beginning of this post if from the year 2000, That's not a wait time from this year.
Wonder if tupacshackur had to have 1" of extra seat belt then ?
