5.1.03

I am too tired to write a full blown TR but here are the odds and ends:

*5 laps for the day total

* make sure you sit on the left hand side, the drop is amazing

* you go over the top a hell of a lot faster than you think you do and Millennium Force sure looks small from the top!

* the themeing is simple amazing, the park went all out, and from my understanding not everything is ready yet

* if you plan on going opening day plan on waiting a long time and plan on bringing a credit card as the new merchandise looks sweet

* no matter how long the line is wait for this badboy, my longest wait today in the queue was exactly 5 hours, it was woth every second in line.

A special thanks to CP for another record breaker, its not just a record breaker its "the one." It was a rough day for the park and they weathered a rough day very well.

Thanks to Maria, Lyndsey, Old Timer Tim, Jeff, Sparty, Brian, Dad, and Steve for the laughs, I have never laughed so hard before in my life.

Magnum was special, and they topped it with Millennium Force. Millennum Force was special and they topped this, its simply an amazing experience.

Couldn't have put it better myself. The ride is amazing. That 5hr line would have seemed longer w/o that goup. My side hurts from laughing. Nice to meet you Tim. Time for bed.

My TR to come soon also. Dan hit the main points well, 5 rides for me longest wait 4HR 45Min. still worth it. And for some reason the left side was better on the drop then the right, or so it appeared to me. There is nothing like this ride, and WT's launch is nothing compared to TTD's launch.

I almost got stuck on MF

4 rides, at an average effective wait time of 3 hours. Worth it.

Just a FEW QUICK notes!

1. 1-800-966-5005!(Just for you SPARTY) for all your QUEUE Shades needs

2. http://www.usatoday.com/travel/vacations/destinations/2003/2003-05-02-roller-coaster.htm

3. Cleveland Plain Dealer ...www.cleveland.com (2 stories about the NEW BESTEST ride!) including a quote from some Spartan fan, and DAN we can't laugh at you anymore (well at least about TTD stopping on top) at the end of one of the two stories Monty states it happened and they just went up and gave the ride a push.

4. THANKS to CP...the wait times were"long" as being reported but the purpose of the day was MEDIA and by the amount of coverage I saw last night and again this morning, CP scored BIG.

5. Thanks to the "crew" Jeff, Jeff , Maria, Lindsey, Brian, Shorty, Most honarable Dan, Amber, Brandon, and Bill, and Eric. Made the wait pleasant.

6. GET YOUR BUTT TO CP AND RIDE THIS THING IT IS UNBELIEVABLE. If MF is a homerun, TTD is a GRAND SLAM.

Chat later.

OTT

wait a tick, how the fudge did you all get invited to media day? i wanna go to media day! hows the rest of the park looking? the grandstands? the queue? are there the rumored "trivia panels" to ease the wait? is Chaos' background neutral? or crazy? i wanna know now! i cant wait 2 more days!

Feeling lazy so just going to copy & paste from CB with some editing:
After just watching TTD run last Sunday I made a joke on GTTP they should call it the "Poop your pants ride" and OMG after riding this thing, it so fits!
Mother Nature being her usual CP Media Day self-the ribbon was finally cut after 9am and my daughter and I (and some CP/GTTP buds) headed for our 1st ride. When you're on the "start line" you hear dragster noises and "peeling out" (with the smoke and all) sounds when you take off. FORGET any other launches you have ever been on! My daughter summed it up best by saying all she kept thinking was "too fast-too fast!!" On our 1st ride I remember when we came over the top looking straight down and seeing water, that spiral really does come from no where and if you ride with your hands up you DO swear you're going to hit one of the poles. Coming to a stop is very smooth...We got off our 1st ride and I was in total shock when I got out of the train. Mr Kinzel said "so Jo, what'd ya think?" And I said "It was great Mr Keller!" I DIED! THAT'S how messed up my head was!! duh!! I, of course apologized, blaming TTD!
The (QUICK) view from the top of TTD is incredible. If you want to look at something specific you have to look fast. MS looked like a model it was so small and looking DOWN on MF was breath taking. Waiting in line watching the people's faces on TTD was fun!
Seeing tons of my friends (and getting tons of hugs from fellow CP employees) was awesome as always. Hooper and Bryan were a hoot to hang out with, laughs were a plenty with them as always. Ended up for last ride being on line with Dan, Jeff and Tim which was a riot too-Tim is hilarious! The TTD medalian CP gave us was really cool. The food at Coasters was great. Mother Nature actually turned it into a wonderful, warm sunny day and I'm sure my daughter and I aren't the only ones toasted today.
I was totally spoiled by past Media Days (MF-43 rides, WT-20 rides) but we still managed 5 rides, which in speaking to some was the most we heard.
If they get the 30 second intervals working on TTD and all other problems tweeked this ride gonna rock. Do NOT be surprised if the running of the bulls now heads for TTD.
As for me? You'll find ME you know where!!!
Thanks to CP for another great time!!

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Not alot of time here either but I agree with OTT. Get to the Point and ride this thing. It truly is a grand slam!!! Way to go CP thanks for another outstanding addition to the park.

After 4 intense rides, and hanging out with some great friends the only thing that I have to say is if you want to experience what car racing is like, but do not race, then go and ride Top Thrill Dragster!!! Thanks to Cedar Point and the TTD crew for A great time yesterday and and A first class ride!

"Launch that sucker...Yeah!"

LuvRaptor, it was nice meeting you yesterday... I feel as if we all bonded in line everytime the dragster "vroom" cut out and we all held our breath until it came on again, letting out a communal sigh haha. (we were the college kids with home made shirts on behind you during the marathon 4 hour line listining to what's his name and his political nonesense) It was really cool to meet all of you gttp people there yesterday, it so nice to know that there are other rollercoaster FREAKS out there who know what I'm talking about when I say "cobra roll" or "B&M"... most people think they're just strange kama sutra positions or something.

So I get to work last night to have 5 people tell me they saw me on the 5:30pm channel 4 news (WCMH) here in central Ohio. I freaked cause a co-worker had taped that news report but said she didn't watch it, just taped it. Ran into one of our meeting rooms at work, and what do you know. Raptor Jo on the news yet once more!!! Not only was I on the news, but I didnt studder, didnt say "uh" once and the reporter even called me "Raptor Jo" :)

How cool is that?? :)

(Hooper-Skykicker got the tape of the Toledo news we taped on and if we're on there I'll send ya a copy!)
