When I went the 4th during 2006, the park was not at all that crowded. yes, it was the actual tuesday the 4th and most the lines were no longer than an hour. I mean RAPTOR and MANTIS had short lines and the midways had about the same crowds as any opening day at the park. we rode so many rides and ate a huge picnic in the pavilion. the only thing that was supposedly crowded was when my sister was working at camp snoopy she said that was a mess. I don't remember really paying attention to kiddy kingdom, but I guess kids love it on july 4th at CP!!
