Let me start by saying I live 40 minutes from Kennywood, but made 3 3 hour trips to CP this year. I love this park. I have been going every year since I was 14 (I did miss a year due to pregnancy.)
First of all, Mantis is a great ride but they need to remove the brakes on the first hill. 15 minute wait.
Everyone rips on Mean Streak, but over the years I have learn the trick to riding it and not getting beat to hell and back. Sit in the front and don't rest your back against the seat. It's a great ride, except for the brakes on the first hill. No wait!
Raptor is the best if you sit in the front. I sat in the back for the first time yesterday and can you say "ear boxing." I thought my head was going to explode when I got off of it. Rode it 2 times within 5 mintues.
Magnum was a little rough and almost seemed faster than usual. A LOT of airtime which resulted in slightly bruised thighs from banging off the lap bar. 2 rides - 5 minute wait each.
Gemini was as smooth as ever. Only red side was running when we rode it in the morning. I think they opened the the blue side later. 5 minute wait.
People who complain about getting beat up on the Mean Streak should ride the Blue Streak in the back. What a mistake, I'll never do that again. My back was definately sore after that ride. 5 minute wait.
I swear Disaster Transport gets darker every time I ride it. Which luckily for the ride is it's only saving grace. No wait.
Didn't bother with Mine Ride or Iron Dragon. There was no wait for either and I still didn't want to take the time to ride them.
As for flat rides, Chaos is awesome. I wasn't able to ride these types of rides until I found Dramamine. No wait.
Cedar Point was smart in relocating the Giant Wheel by the lake. My husband who hates Ferris Wheels even wanted to ride it for the view. 5 mintue wait mainly because of loading time.
Power Tower had a half hour wait so we opted for a second ride on the Millenium Force. First ride was 1 hour 20 minute wait. Second ride was 45 mintue wait. We sat in the back both times and it was the most amazing ride. The airtime is unbeatable and the speed is undescribable. I had riden it twice in the front previously and thought it couldn't be beat, but I was wrong.
Overall, this was the best trip of the year. Will be going to Busch Gardens Tampa and Islands of Adventure in October. Anxious to see how they compare. Was at BGT 4 years ago and liked it, but not as much as CP.
Thanks to CP for the many years of thrills and great memories and I'm looking forward to the day when my daughter is old enough to enjoy it.
