CP didn't want another Magnum, but why did they, for the most part, leave airtime out of the picture? Couldn't they have made the 3rd hill about as tall as the one next to it, only more broad to deliver the best sustained ejector air in the world? Just imagine flying over that hill at more than 50 mph, feeling like you're going to be put into orbit and then immediatly getting pressed back into your seat as you fly into that right turn, it would have been intense. MF has an awsome beginning, an awsome ending, but that whole island section is mediocre, MF lacks a good midpoint and the giant 3rd hill just doesn't cut it. I think they werent paying attention to the ride experience at that point, just caring about being as big as possible. There's supposed to be a good float at the top from the front, but towards the back, you cant even tell youre going over a hill. This seems like the obvious thing for them to do, so why didn't they do it? It would have beat out S:ROS at SFNE (which even the most loyal cp goers say is better), there would never have been a rollback, and it would have been cheaper by at least a million dollars which could have been put towards the next coaster. It just seems like the logical thing to do. Dont get me wrong, I love MF, but it really disappoints me that with the race for the biggest coaster, they overlook the little details and surprises that make a coaster great.
