Highlights of the week:
1. Taking my brother (a high school freshman) to the park for the first time in 5 years, and being with him as he rides some of the coasters (most notably Millennium Force) for the first time.
2. Showing people around the park and how to beat the crowds, as if I live there. With 8 trips so far this season, that's becoming more true.
3. Top Thrill Dragster's performance is the most unpredictable thing about the park. On Sunday we didn't ride it, since the line was long and my brother had to work his way up to Magnum and MF, but it was running smoothly all day. Then on Tuesday, it was down almost all day and didn't start testing until we were about to leave. I finally got to ride it again yesterday, when we got into the park at 9:30. We waited 50 minutes from beyond the soda machines to right before the platform, before there was an hour of downtime. After that, it was just a few more minutes before my roommate's first ride ever on the coaster and my first in 3 months.
4. Magnum is hands down the best ride for the time you have to wait for it, with Wicked Twister in second place. We never had to wait more than 45 minutes for either ride, even though the park was more crowded than I had expected.
5. We saw a lot of weird things yesterday, but the one that takes the cake was when somebody vomited in the queue for Blue Streak, and it was BLUE! Thankfully a ride op quickly covered it with sawdust just before we passed by it.
Next up: I plan to go with Avalanche Sam and other friends from CWRU sometime during Labor Day weekend.
