Any news on 2026? Will there be a new attraction? Any updates to existing rides? I feel like usually by now we are hinted to something…
Well, the removal of SRF and the goings-on around town hall would've led me to anticipate something going in that area for 2026, preferably a traditional flume.
But the recent financial performance of Six Flags has me thinking that 2026 CapEx may be kicked down the road a year or more.
The first hint regarding Siren's Curse didn't "surface" until 13-September last year, so even if we assume there is something substantial coming next year, which is far from a forgone conclusion, we may be a few weeks out from knowing what that is.
And there may not be anything major at all coming for next year, considering the park has had a few consecutive years of significant cap ex. But I would expect them to announce something for next year, even if it's something relatively minor.

The best New for 2026 announcement for me is the ouster of Zimmerman as CEO.
IMO he's been a train wreck and one that will likely lead to yet another Six Flags bankruptcy.
Given the damage that he's done with the grandiose merger, his leaving is the only way to get a turnaround started and hopefully get the parks back on track for the future.
That being said Mr. Ouimet seems to think the rot at the top goes to the board level, so there may need to be a C-Suite sweep to get it truly going.

It's all being withheld specifically from you. Don't tell him, y'all!

A local enthusiast was recently
Quoted as saying that they were
Uncertain about the future offerings at CP.
As for the park, media outlets reached out to spokesperson
Tony Clark, who was also mum on the subject.
Recently, some park-goers have uncovered markings
Around certain areas of the park, but we'll see if the park has another attraction with that
"X-factor" in store for 2026.

I'm usually a pessimistic thinker. And news articles are talking about Six Flags having to sell half or more of its parks, and possibly even going into bankruptcy. And then there's the securities fraud lawsuit.
Carowinds, as far as I know, is delaying their water ride indefinitely, so anything like that at CP is out of the question.
My best case scenario is that CP gets the Nebulaz from SFA.
I'm honestly not sure if there's gone to be much of anything new at Six Flags parks outside of Phantom Theater and that Texas Giga Dive.
SFA relocations and that New England lawn ornament don't count as new to me.
Things are just really dire right now.
Unofficial Rule of Ride Removals
You must announce removals in advance so people can get their last rides in, unless a major incident or malfunction prevents the ride from doing so.
This applies to roller coasters, flat rides, water rides, and so on.
Exceptions to this rule include upcharge attractions, waterpark rides, and rides that are effectively redundant within a park.
^^It was a joke. I certainly don't expect Six Flags to invest in an obsolete Intamin coaster model that has only been built one time ever, the very next year after they introduced two new* roller coasters. Just throwing back to the running Aquatrax jokes of yesteryear.

I don't really expect CP to get anything substantial next year. Maybe a ride painted or some sort of general improvements or at most a flat ride from SFA. We can't really complain after getting a solid, unexpected addition this year.
Honestly, if they boost the budget for maintenance and emphasize operating the park as best they possibly can, I'd be happy with that.
As far as the rot at the top extending to the board level, I would definitely tend to agree. Them and the the C-Team led by Zimmerman were the ones that failed the existing Cedar Fair parks, employees, and investors by over-promising what the merger could achieve. Plus they've got Selim Bassoul on there still so he is definitely rotten - collecting a big fat paycheck and not even living on US soil. I'm not sure the guy who will come after Zimmerman will be any better, but Zimmerman definitely will not be remembered fondly by me and I bet if Matt Ouimet were to do it all over, he might have endorsed someone else for the job.

They can certainly ride these two new coasters for another year. No pun intended. I’m sure plenty of folks haven’t yet made it to ride them. But a smaller addition or improvement would be welcome. Maybe finish off those bathroom renovations.
First ride; Magnum 1994
I still say it is significant that the web cam in The Frontier Town has been focused on The Skyhawk. That thing is going to be moved or removed.
Big if true, and also bad news for MF, TT2, Magnum, Gemini, the water park, GateKeeper, Maxair, Giant Wheel, and the Boardwalk. On the bright side, they'll save a ton in reduced maintenance costs and should have no trouble keeping the few remaining rides open.

Let's not forget Iron Dragon, Rougarou, Corkscrew, Wild Mouse, Windseeker...
Anyway, on a more serious note, I could see Skyhawk getting moved. Gemini ends up becoming another unannounced coaster removal, and Skyhawk is moved to that area, which also gets one or two new and/or used flat rides.

Two new coasters for 2025, a company in financial turmoil...I wouldn't hold your breath. Gemini isn't going anywhere. Focus on trying to get those two new waterslides open and increased # of towels at Breakers Express so they don't run out.
In all seriousness, I would hope for some noticeable infrastructure improvements. Bank that Haunted Maze money for 2027's log flume.
Look on the bright side; with measles, mumps, and rubella returning to Florida next year maybe some Universal and Disney traffic will find their way to Six Flags parks and it will be a banner year.
Promoter of fog.
I would assume at this point nothing new for 2026. No construction even started yet on the SRF site. Shame they took it down so quick for that land to sit vacant for 2 to 3 years I would assume. Could even be longer with the horrific financials.
Coming off the heels of Siren's Curse and TT2, I definitely wouldn't be expecting a new coaster for next year, and that's before taking into consideration Six Flags' financials being about as structurally sound as a Ford Tempo.
I'd also be content with them taking a year just for upkeep and tidying up the various small annoyances that have been accumulating as of late. I'd like to think that there aren't any obvious candidates for surprise ride removals, but I also don't want to jinx things. I'll settle for hoping for surprise leadership removals instead.
