What? Call and talk to an actual person that works there??
Instead of just posting on here and waiting for replies from people that did it last year or who's friend said he could do it but only at the resort gate on Tuesdays before 4pm?
Who would've thought of such a thing...

If I may quote Shangela.... Halleloo! I've never understood posting to an Internet website instead of just going to the source.

Sometimes calling the park doesn't work out very well, just a few posts above I had stated that I called the park inquiring about the FL+ deal for Platinum Pass holders. The person working at Cedar Point told me there was no such deal, even though a few people here said there was. Turns out, there is indeed a deal for Platinum pass holders at CP this year.
Now, was I talking to the correct person? Most likely no, but I called CP and explained my question, and was forwarded to the person who gave me the incorrect answer.
I don't know what the people at the park information said, but on the Cedar Point website under Platinum Passholder Benefits, it states:
Every Day: Limit 1
Passholder Appreciation Days: Limit 4

Sorry. I just can't wrap my mind around putting more faith in anonymous Internet posters than in park employees, even if, on occasion, some employees are mis-informed. As Og notes, approximately 13 seconds of Internet research brought information from the park's website.

The truth is, depending on who you end up talking to on the phone, the users on here may very well have more valid data, as we are the ones visiting the park on a regular basis. I'm not saying that you can't get a person who knows what they are talking about. But, obviously that does happen from time to time.

I've always been able to get up to 4 bring a friend tockets on each pass, no matter what day it was.

The operative word being may. I'm sorry. I'm prone to putting more faith in company employees than people on the Internet. If nothing else, once at the gate I can name the employee I spoke to and demand to speak to a supervisor if I'm not getting what that employee promised.

New to PointBuzz. My family and I spent 5 days at the breakers and we got the 3 day pass. My kids loved it(2 boys 10,8). We had a great experience. Thinking about getting passes for next year. We probably only have the ability to go once a year but will spend 4-5 days there. Is it worth it to get platinum passes for everyone or just one person in the family. With the perks the platinum pass offers haven't been able to figure out if it would be worth it. Anyone with thoughts? Thanks
Hmmm. Well, there's parking, so just one for that. And if dad is buying, then the food/merchant discount can be his. Early entry comes with a resort stay for everyone.
I'd say one platinum might do it.
Unless you want to take everyone to Kings Island for a day or two sometime as well, then it's platinum all around.
Notice I said that sometimes calling the park doesn't work out well for getting correct information. I'm not advocating everyone go to an Internet forum for information on CP. However, there are definitely numerous people on this forum that I trust more for accurate information than a random park employee on the phone, or at CP. I am not referring to the official website or park statements, but rather individual employees of CP.

Under the Tickets section:
Passholders share in all of the fun & thrills by buying up to four (4) Bring A Friend tickets as low as $41.99 - up to a $23 savings off the price at the park. Enjoy all of your favorite rides and attractions at Cedar Point including the tallest, fastest, longest dive coaster, Valravn! Validity dates may vary.
So, even their own website has conflicting information.

Still.... I'd rather be standing at the gate with a supervisor saying I'd spoken to Joe in CP guest services who told me x than standing at the gate with a supervisor saying most of the people on an Internet forum told me y. The likelihood of the interaction working out in my favor is much better in the former.

^True. However, I still do no understand why some have an issue with people coming here asking questions. The FL deal for Platinum pass holders example I used was one end of the spectrum, on the other end I have witnessed people arguing with park supervisors over something someone told them that was incorrect. There is good information and bad information on both sides.
The key is to know who to talk to about what issue, you don't want to ask the Dippin Dots worker about how many bring a friend tickets a pass holder can use per visit. Just as you don't want to ask me what they are doing with MS, which I know for sure they aren't completely removing...
It's not, exactly, that I have an issue; I just don't understand the reasoning. Why ask the people who can't know the answer the question in the first place?

My main reasoning in which asking the park directly when you have a policy question, or any question that is best answered by the park is that we all now that "policies can change without notice." What was okay on Friday may not be okay on Sunday due to an incident, abuse, sales ending, etc.

Why can't we know?

Wolf bobs said it best, that's why you can't 'know'.

True enough. But, if I ask a question here, I still feel that 9 out of 10 times I'm going to get a quicker and more accurate answer than if I call the park.
