I see...I probably should've used a broader term, like "performance," instead of just "speed," but oh, well.
If the trains were heavier/lighter, it would change their momentum, thereby changing the ride's speed in certain areas.
Everyone has a preference of front or back of the train. I've often wondered what a coaster like Millennium Force or Magnum would be like, if it had a single car, like Wildcat.
I doubt STR is going anywhere anytime soon.

Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling
My thoughts summed up...
Ride runs just fine albeit slow parking currently which could be tweaked at some point. It's an icon and runs just fine. If it hurts you, well...time to build up those quads kids :)

All I can say is I am sure we will get an announcement date for the announcement.
Who knows though? The Rougarou announcement came out of nowhere.
Even in Rougarou's case, we were at least given an announcement date which led to the news of Mantis' closing. As for Rougarou itself, it was definitely unexpected.
I feel like the announcement for the announcement will be sometime this weekend. But then again, we can never be sure.

Does anyone notice the Cedar Point website is updating? Not sure what it means??
Cedar Point + Kings Island = Heaven
At least at Carowinds they've had a teaser going on for several weeks as to what's coming in 2016... why are CP fans getting deprived of something like that! :(
It seems Carowinds and Kings Dominion is getting some waterpark improvements next year... Could CP be looking at one as well for part of the 2016 season?
^^We are deprived because The information about 2016 has already been leaked.
Why hype a dead horse.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
Enjoy the season and all the improvements and don't worry about 2016. Some people are never satisfied.
I think the hints and teasers are a fun game to play. Perhaps you are right that we aren't getting any more because it is what everyone's saying it is.

Different marketing team, different demographic, etc etc. What one park does to promote something and how they do it is not something that is mimicked chain wide. And in case you missed it, there's a series of signs on a long wall that are leading up to something being announced. If that's not a teaser, I don't know what is.
Also, Cedar Point's "marketing" for this announcement has been going on longer than what Carowinds is currently doing. So, there's that too. In all honesty, the marketing effort being put into the 2016 announcement is no greater or less than what they did with Gatekeeper. We had a good idea of what was coming WELL in advance and it was just a few things here and there from July till the announcement in August. It was just enough to clue in the GP.
I could see a few more things "developing" before the actual announcement since Jason said that the announcement will be in the park and that it'll be something unlike anything they've done before (or something to that degree). But even if there isn't a crazy marketing scheme for 2016 and they just announce it with little effort, that won't "take away" from the quality of what is coming.
That's just my 2 cents.

I still think the teaser campaign started in December with the holiday video. The white board with the map of the peninsula, GTT area circled etc... That along with the wall, pumpkin patch and such are more than adequate. I'm also sure we will see some more in the coming weeks.
Also it's worth noting this is clearly a large and important expansion and expenditure by Carowinds. Major upgrades usually go with large and hyped up announcements. See Banshee at KI, huge marketing push, huge reveal event, and a year long marketing strategy. Then the next year, the details were announced in the Festhaus the last day of the season and casually updated.
Large investments that they want to garnish a very large ROI usually get more money and time applied to the advertising push. Just makes sense.
