I was there on July 31st (night), Aug 1st and 2nd (all day)
July 31st- was the first ride I went on. I got in the car in the station and probably sat in it for a good 10 mins and they said they were having technical difficulties and released the lap bars "for our convenience" and then we were off. It wasn't a long break down and I don't think the mechanic was there or anything. they launched the car. and then moved our 2 trains into the launching position.
Aug 1st- I was walking past it and noticed people were in the launch position and they wern't "as intense as normally" and then realized it was broken down and a mechanic was below the car looking at the track/silver boxes. It was broken down for about 15 mins. After about 10 mins- they did the music and dragster noises but the car didn't go.
Aug 2nd- ^^ the same thing happened- but I was in line. It said it was an hour wait but they only had the 2 switch backs full- and I knew it wouldn't be a long wait. Could have gotten on in 30 mins if it wasn't for the breakdown. They said they were having technical difficulties and after about 10 mins. (i couldn't see over the wall) I heard the same dragster noises but the car didn't launch. Then about 5 mins after that they launched the car. so I got on the ride in about 45min. *** Edited 8/6/2007 3:46:00 AM UTC by DrunkinMonkey***

I was there just the other day and dispite not having been able to get on ANYTHING because of the rain, I was told the Dragster crew was trying their hardest to have her open and running for people. I know she did in fact run with people, but it wasn't for any lenghty time since the periods where the rain broke were to short to get any serious capacity in. Maverick on the other hand had a horrible day. Not only did the rain keep them from opening her up at all, but the longest break in the rain resulted in a mechanical breakdown that lasted till the rain picked back up again. And the reason for the breakdown was that the security camera that's at the end of the breakrun had actually broke at the stem and was hanging by it's wires! And by the time maintenance took the camera off, fixed it and got it back up and positioned right, the rain started again!!
So I was in line for Maverick a total of 12 1/2 hours!!! The longest I've ever waited for anything! It was only because my friends were soooooo deadset on riding (for the first time) that they didnt care if they didnt get on anything else (not that there was much to go on with how bad the rain was). Yet dispite the entire day being wasted, we still had fun with the people that stuck through the whole day, just as we did.

^wow that's a really awful day. Sorry to hear that. At least you were able to salvage some fun out of being stuck in the same spot all day.

I was there Aug 29th-2nd as well. When we were in line for this ride during mid-day (probably 4ish like the gentlemen said above).
I was there in line on the 1st and a bunch of people were leaving when it was shut down for just a little bit.
Oh and another thing I noticed was
Left side of the train-2nd loading zone (one on the right) The ride op that checked the back left restraints wasn't really paying attention to his job and took out his cell phone numerous times and started texting people.

I don't know about the rest of the day yesterday (8/6), but it ran great last night from 7 on. It had just reopened from being down (not sure how long it was down though) when I got there around 7.
Yesterday, on 8/7, it was down from opening to about 1pm due to heavy rain. Then it ran for about an hour before a power surge knocked it out for about 15-30 minutes (Along with many other rides.) After this they launched one train, and developed another mechanical failure. This one was fixed in about 10 minutes. I don't know how it ran between 3:30 and 8:30pm, but after that it was down, along with most of the major rides, for most of, if not the entire night due to lightning.
