2006 marketing!!

Cables, yes. That's how (in some cases) they can have the ride up 8 hours after it snaps

Gear boxes, definitely not. Well at least they didn't...they might from now on though.

I agree with you TTD 120mph. I like sports so I will compare it to that. If you are a huge New York Yankees fan (which I'm not I hate them) and you live in Ohio, as compared to a Yankees fan who lives in New York and goes to games all the time. Since it's a lot harder for you to go to games, it doesn't make the fan the lives in New York any bigger of a fan just because he can and does go to a lot of games.

I've been on TTD a total of 9 times. (That's very sad compared to others on here) But, my knowledge about the ride is much higher than average for never being a ride op or anything of that sort. I don't want to be known as TTD's biggest fan, but I'm at least in that group.

I like Browns and the Force's outlook on it and like Adam said. We'd ride the ride every day if we could but even when we do make it down there, we have a group of friends/family holding us back. I shouldn't make that sound like a bad thing though, since I wouldn't be able to go without them. :)

I know that last year there werent any cable snaps because a higher quality cable was used. But I heard somewhere that CP choose the new cable because the previous cable supply was all used up. I know that the main reason for the new quality was to prevent snaps, but why didnt they chose to use it earlier when it really needed it? Did they want to use up the supply of the lower quality cable before going with the higher grade?

The cable has snapped countless times over the past few years....blah, blah, and more blah.

"Countless" times? As in too many times to count? I hardly think so. :)
