2004 Operating Schedule

It does say "Cedar Point opens May 8th!" on the resorts website, so it wouldn't just be the the hotel's opening on the 8th. I'm pretty sure I heard it was the 8th or 9th towards the end of this season, but nothing was concrete then.

May 8th is probably Longaberger day, and the hotel will also be open. The amusement park is just closed to the general public, no reason the hotel can't be open for Longaberger people, and whoever else wants to stay.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Bryan Edwards (CP Public Relations Rep., if you don't know him...) was at the GOCC Holiday Party last night and he told us that Longaberger will NOT be buying the park next year and opening day will be on SATURDAY, May 8! He also mentioned that the park will be open DAILY after May 8! The Park is also open, as was stated before, on the FRIDAYS of Bonus Weekend and Halloweekends go through the end of October!

Weird... no Longaberger Day. That's going to be different! I wonder why Longaberger chose to discontinue the annual trip; for one company, there was always a ton of people in the park!

Longaberger has been laying off a lot of people in the past year and a half. They did away with at least 6 departments including the one I use to work in and Employee Events which took care of Longaberger Day. That could be a reason.

I also know that when I did work there, they had all the employees take a survey about where they would like to see Family Day in the future. A few of the choices were PKI and SF. So maybe they are having it elsewhere this year.

Longaberger Day was actually a fairly recent thing. During the 60's, 70's and 80's CP always opened on a Sat.

The 2004 schedule has been posted. Opening Day is in fact, Saturday May 8, with a closing time on 10. As everyone expected, Closing Day is Halloween!

Baskets must not be selling as well as they once were....*or*....the park will be open during basket company event. The exclusive buy-out may have just become too expensive.

I really hope that isn't the case or I think it would be kind of busy on opening day.

I noticed that on a few Friday and Saturdays in September and October when you click for more info, it gives the hours and Joe Cool entry times and such, then below it says "Park is Closed." Kind of weird, but probably just typos on their part.

Friday, September 18th, 2003 at 10:10 PM. It finally happened. Rollback on Dragster in the front seat of the gold train!

Did anybody else noticed that Sunday October 10th the park is open from 10-10 instead of 10-8 like all other sundays for halloweekends?
10/10/04 is probably an answer to this past years (and possibly previous years) crowd problem. Wonder if frightzone is going to be open that night also.

I can't recall that weekend in 2002 or 2001 or previous years to compare 2003 too. I know it was dead in 2000, cause that weekend was the last time I visited as a guest. it was pretty dead.

It is also kinda weird having the park open in May when most of the students who work there are still in school.

The admission has been posted too.

I wonder if I am gonna be on the Discovery Channel soon.

I'm kinda glad and upset that Longaberger won't be there this year... I'm glad because we all get to ride the roller coasters on "opening day" instead of them... the bad thing is, the crew will still be fresh, and we won't catch intervals on rides... but hey, any day that has CP in it is a great day.

I figured I missed it somewhere. They should put a warning on 400-level courses: "You will have zero free time."

Fun part is I looked back a ways to see if it was somewhere else on here, and I guess I sped right past it. Back to homework I go... (insert garbled insanity speech here). ;)

You think that minor detail of highschool is going to stop me from enjoying early May weekdays in the park? At my school you're allowed 9 absences per semester, and I've been saving up!
