In the past, has the extra cost of a combo pass been discounted over in-season rates? Is it possible to "upgrade" a standard pass to a combo?

I'm not so sure. As others have mentioned, the early buyers are likely to buy a pass whether the new ride is 200 ft, 400 ft, or anywhere in between. By waiting until after the early sales period, CF may be maximizing revenue for the fiscal year by getting "new" passholders in at a higher price.

I'm always disappointed to see the price of anything go up. Oh well, at least I'm getting a new ride out of it. Did anyone catch that part that said morning and evening ERT for Joe Cool Club. That's a new one by me.

Who finally met the infamous Magnum Dan!

I wonder if Wicked Twister will actually be included in the ERT, which apparently it no longer is this season. The response at the WT entrance "they stopped doing that weeks ago."

The closest I'll ever get to riding a B&M Flyer is looking down while on Raptor... :(

I didn't read anything about renewing last year's passes by internet, and having them send you a new pass...does anyone know it they are still doing this, or if they are waiting to raise the prices and then adding that method?

June 28th: LocoBazooka Tour (Sevendust headlining)
July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

Well, I have to get my season pass for the first time for next year!
A regularly priced(after the special) for a parking pass is going to be $60.00?

OUCH!!!!!!!

I was thinking the same Chitown. $60 is a lot. This better be a big ass new ride lol

I wonder if daily parking will go up? Ouch! And evening ERT, I wonder if that would not include resort peeps?

Life-Long CP fan.
It probably would include the resort guest based on the great results they have had this year in filling rooms. It would incline people who are staying overnight to purchase starlight tickets and participate in the night ERT, then get even more then next morning.

I mean nevermind, screw them! ;)

At least the price for Joe Cool remains the same.

Anyone notice this in that article?

"Cedar Point will also build a major new thrill ride for next summer."

Probably you did. Is that the first time they've mentioned anything on the site?

Wise men say, a world without coasters is monotony.

On Cedar Point's site, I think so. But Cedar Fair's website has something about it.
I bought my combo passes early last year. They're up $6 this time, $5 extra for the 1/2 price parking pass, and free Joe Cool Club. Considering all the fun my daughter and I have had this summer, I'll spend the additional $17 this year and get passes again. Now, gotta keep our fingers crossed that next summer is exactly like this year's.
Although we took advantage of the great deal for combo passes this year, we didn't hit soak city ONCE. We plan to cut back to just the regular pass and Joe Cool.

I was wondering if I should get a Soak City pass. I never went to Soak City, but like the free Joe Cool membership with the combo pass.
We have small kids (not-quite-2 and just-turned-4) who really *really* liked Soak City. The youngest had more fun in the tamer toddler area (choo choo lagoon) than in the park proper, and the oldest couldn't decide which she liked better. I would have skipped SC if it hadn't been for the two of them, but after going in I decided I had under-valued it, as I had a lot of fun, too. Now that I've been, I'm planning to get the combo pass.

Based on my experience, if you've never been to a dedicated water park, it's hard to see why you would want to go to SC in favor of CP when time is limited. But, once you've been seems worthwhile to go back.

Well, 9/11 is nearing, so no announcement is going to be made yet... I think they'll announce during Halloweekends at the earliest.

Don't Fight It-Ride It!

OldCPer, you didn't make it to SC once this summer?!!! I am so glad that I had combo passes...with the hot, humid weather I had for every visit, I would've lost my mind without SC. We used to just come up for a 2day visit once a year and get the Ride and Slide 2 day tickets. We'd maybe spend 2 hours each day at SC. This year, since I knew I 'd be coming back every month, we'd get in for ERT (except in July), then, when the GP were let in, we'd go to SC from 10am-4pm. Then spend the rest of the day in CP. Definitely got my $$$'s worth!
