I'm looking into a 2002 Season Pass for Cedar Point and I was wondering if I purchase two tickets, can I give one of them to my friend or is it only good for the person who provided the billing address?
I also want to get both tickets with the Joe Cool Club Membership.
And finally, do I have to pick these tickets up or will they be sent to me and be ready to use? If you have any other information that may help me, please let me know. Cedar Point's online store is currently down so I might just fax them the pdf order form.
Thanks a million...can't wait to join the fun this season at CP!
And they will be mailed to you..

So your saying I could use one ticket for myself and then if I had a friend that wanted to go along they could use the other?
I though you had a photo id on the pass?

Ok, that makes perfect cents! ;-)
How long does it normally take to get processed because I'm thinking of going opening day?
Thanks again for the help.

In that case, MrCoaster, I'd suggest you get to the park at the very least an hour before opening so you can get in line to get your season pass processed, OR wait until a couple weeks after opening day before going.

until they told us we could use the certificate and go on in the park.
I remember when that happened. Just so everyone knows, that was a decision made by management later that day because the line for season passes was so extremely long. It isn't something that is required to be done, though, so I would still suggest getting your pass earlier if at all possible.

"What time is the snow going to stop?"
Well, sounds like I might just go up an hour or two early so I can get my pass. I don't think the park opens real early opening day anyways.
I was just wondering...what if you were twins - couldn't you get into the park with the same pass?

Even though the park just upgraded its season pass center computers, the process is still extremely slow compared to other parks. For a park that is so high on capacity of its rides, it sure lacks in this category.
I think they should have more than a few computers to do this process. I know there isn't enough room though. Maybe they should look into expanding the SP office back towards the picnic area. Just a few more computer stations would go a long way. Hopefully the mail renewals this year will cut the lines down a little bit.
Oddly enough at SFWoA, "you zip in, you zip out, it's like going to Wisconsin." (10 points for naming what movie that line is from )

In my opinion, one of the problems with the computer system in the season pass office last year was that when the lines were huge, the employees operating the computers didn't yet know how to use the program very well and needed to take a bit of extra time going through all the steps (it is hard to be efficient when you're not familiar with computers in general because of lack of past experience or because you can't type quickly). However, after a week or two (unfortunately, when the lines were a bit shorter also!) they were more familiar with the program and the line for pictures could move along much more quickly.
I think that the mail-renewal system is a great idea and I hope that as many people as possible take advantage of it.

Maybe I was just there at the wrong times...

No one beats the way Kings Island does season passes. It's nothing short of amazing. They run 20 stations and just bang people through. I've not waited for a season pass yet there... and I'm talking prime time at the beginning of the season.

I'd be interested to know how many people have taken advantage of the renew by mail option. I could be wrong, but I would think that a majority of season pass sales are renewals. Now if a majority of those people chose the renew by mail option, hopefully it'll help with the lines.
CP does a great job with the whole guest experience, but honestly, I'm considering not making the trip opening day just because I don't want to spend half the day waiting to have my pass processed. I don't mind getting there early if that's what it takes and I'd even go to get it done the day before (the Longaberger buy-out day) but I've been told the season pass center is closed that day. It is just too long of a drive for me to wait in the season pass line all day. Maybe Mr. Kinzel thinks the ROI for a good SP processing system wouldn't be good enough. But in the grand scheme of things, the cost of such a system is probably peanuts to Cedar Fair and would easily be made back in a couple of opening days with people actually being in the park spending money and not outside waiting! :)
