2002 at a glance...

ERT for Hotel Guests as well as Joe Cool Club?  Great!  That saves me 45 bucks for the three of us!

I don't know how known it was, but they changed the gate opening times back in June.  They would start letting guests in the park at 10am on weekdays, and 9:30 on Saturdays.

-----------------

Yeah it was June, but wasn't it 9:30 on weekdays and 9 on Saturdays? I remember on Joe Cool days (usually Thursday) when the ERT went from 9-10, the GP would arrive at 9:30 and get p/o'd.

Opening day next year has a 9:30 gate time :). Last year it was 10 I believe.

Joe is correct.  For the majority of the summer the GP was let in at 9:30 on weekdays and 9:00 on Saturdays.  The only problem was on the JCC days, the GP was let in at 9:30 and we were only supposed to allow JCC members on rides before 10.  This created a lot of chaos and honestly, I don't think this was the best way to handle the situation.

I hope I don't step on anyones toe(s) here but how do we know for sure that there isn't going to be a MM in '02?  It wasn't listed on the operations calendar last year either.  I'm not trying to start anything, just holding out hope.  I loved MM and hope it happens again this upcoming season.

Don't hold your breath for it Joey..I'm not being mean by saying that either but its just something I've been told by a good source that would know!  No MM sorry :-(

I was also one of those PO'd JCC people during ERT when they started letting the GP in at 9:30. We rode MF a couple times then headed down to Raptor only to find a larger than expected line because they'd let the GP in. With 75 days of ERT for MM and WT, I guess we shouldn't complain about MM (at least those of us who are season pass JCC people). But that means I won't get my ERT for Raptor :(

Well, Hooper and Jo, no luck.  It turns out that Longaberger only offers the tickets to people that work at the New Albany/Newark area, consultants aren't able to buy them.  I guess technically, they don't work for Longaberger.  I guess it's like Wal-Mart employees don't work for Sony, even though they sell Playstations, that idea.  I don't know.  Lauren (g/f) talked to her mom yesterday about it.  She's going to see if her contacts at the main office/production plant (would you call it a plant?) would have some extras, but I'm not holding my breath.  Time will tell, I guess.  Maybe I should go out there and see if I can get a job, just for long enough to get the tickets. :)

that'd be pretty funny.  I can see it, Soak City lot around 9:30 am: "I need tickets!  Anyone got tickets??  Need 2 tickets!"

Hey Jo, next time you talk to CP Marketing ask for the Group Sale rates for 2002....If your company wanted to there is NO reason an CP event couldn't be done.

The last company I worked for which had an event paid the whole cost of the employee ticket and then charged $7 for a guest/spouse and dependents. This included a MEAL also.

There are a number of ways to show a company how a CP event can fit into a budget...it just comes down to the company's desire...Also, keep in mind while CP seems "cheap" you have to look at what a company is currently spending on an event such as the Blue Jackets...I am sure the particapation level would jump dramaticly if a CP event was offered and thus the overall cost to the comapny.

Such some food for thought...

With regards to the raised ticket price, it looks like this year is the perfect year for my first season pass.  It's too bad the rest of my family didn't buy thenm.

Maybe Millennium Mania will happen next year.  It wasn't planned for 2001.  The signs read "Back be popular demand..."  Maybe we should all popularly demand... :)
Three our of the four MM days last year I can't see how they turned a profit or broke even. They are not going to keep it around just for the 600 people that show up, they are not that nice.

The last Friday they may have turned a profit with a decent crowd being there. The Thursday before (Monsoon Mania) the weather was horrible which may have been the reason why nobody was there. The first 2 days it was not that crowded, but the Millennium was out of Millennium Mania.

I don't really care for the event if they don't step away from the no re-ride policy.  The policy as a whole makes no sense and not just to the few of us. If I had a nickel every time a GP peep asked why they can't stay on when nobody is on the platform, I'd be a Hundredaire.

Another reason attendance was down the last two days of MM this year was due to the Sept. 11th tragedies.  I'm betting that MM is off this upcoming year but still holding out a glimmer of hope deep down in my heart.  :)
