Heres basically what you'll see announced very soon Gang..

Basically, $42 for a funday admission this 2002 season, public opening day will be Sun. May 5 and then closed Mon-Thurs of that week. Open every day from that Friday, May 10 on til Bonus weekends in October. No Millennium Mania this year :-(. But any Joe Cool Club member or Hotel guest can get into the park 1/2 hour early and ride MF or
Wicked Twister. Very Similar to what IOA and USF does! I think there are more than 75 days of it too!

Keep your eyes peeled to the site!

ADDITION- speaking of that link folks its up on the official website now..go check it out!

NO MM!!???!!  That sucks!  I went this past year for the first time, that was one of my favorite trips!  (except for a few seconds on Raptor's platform.  Hooper, Jo, you know what I'm talking about ;) )

No Millennium Mania next year!  That’s very disappointing.  I was hoping the event would become an annual end of summer tradition.  I assume they are not going to do it because they weren’t making any (or enough) money.  I hope people complaining about the whole re-ride/no re-ride thing had nothing to do with it.  Does anyone know if CP will allow re-rides during the ½ hour Joe Cool time?

Do you know what day Physics Day will be on?

I might be able to coax our school into letting us go for the first time ever for Phyics. It down't hurt that our teacher loves roller coasters!

I'm betting on a money factor for no MM this year.  It cost alot to open the park for those days and even though it's great for us they are the ones that suffer in the pocket book.  No rerides is another reason, it's obvious that they don't want to deal with the issue so do away with it.  That's the easiest way to get rid of a problem.

"I'm Bored:(..."
So on May 4th it says "The park is hosting a private event."  Longaberger day possibly?  If so, looks like I'll be there all weekend.  WOOHOO!

Reason # 1 I dont pay over $10.00 for a simple basket, any clue how much it costs a corporation to buy out an entire amusement park? So again this season the basket "peeps" as Jeff put it, will be riding WT before the GP-just like with MF. Great!! :( I'm not surprised about MM, again this year it was a "free for all" for the die hards re-riders. I really do not understand how people really didn't take full advantage of MM?? USISCEUOGHJL-Hooper and I CRACK up every time we talk about your Raptor "incident". I must admit even he and I weren't feeling too great after our 13 rerides either. MM-the day Hooper and Raptor Jo actually got sick of Raptor!!! ;)

And Mr Spartan-nice hearing from you finally!!!

Jo, do you want me to get you a ticket, too?? :)  I can see what I can do...no promises, though.  We'll talk this weekend.

While I don't have the exact numbers for a "buyout"...It doesn't cost as much per person as you would think.

A typical company function of 1,000 with a meal "only" runs around $35,000...Multiple this out to 15k equals 525,000...admissions only for examples above: 1,000 equals approx. $25,000, 15k $375,000.

Now a group would have to guarantee a set number of people. The basket people(TBP) as we have started to call them, can buy tickets from the company at a rate established by the group themselves. I think last year an employee was able to buy 4 tickets at $10 a piece. Not a bad deal, a family of four can go to CP for forty dollars. As the employee I am thrilled the company has done this for me.

This is an OUTSTANDING company benefit which looked at on a PER PERSON cost is cheap for "TBP". In the grand scheme of things the overall costs to the company is a small drop in the basket! For a company that does not do much if any main stream advertising, goodwill amongst "the employees" aka consultants is priceless.

While we may not like the fact WT will be open to this group before the GP, given half a chance who here wouldn't want to be on the midway that day?

uscigepdhdicdghass...  (I love that name) If only I had a camera during our Raptor Incident.  And it would be nice if someone could get me a ticket for May 4th.

let me guess, hooper, wink wink nod nod?  I'll see what I can do.  OTT, you/family work for Longaberger as a consultant?  That's what my g/f's mom is, in Cleveland.  Sounds like it should be smooth sailing on getting tickets. :)

OK Hooper-trying to go without me?? :)
You can't kick the sky without your PIC! ;)
UPISRHBJJUTF-we WILL talk this weekend! :)
OTT-your figures were interesting, it amazes me how cheap my company is, but part of that could very well be that there are only around 4K employees around the Columbus/Ohio area. I know that we have had "votes" before where we wanted our yearly company outing and CP has blown all others away only later to have the company say "we decided CP would be too expensive so we're going to a Columbus Blue Jacket game instead"--BLECH!!! :(
I also do believe yearly my company feels more "comfortable" with offering PKI due to the drive is less for most. There is something about the insurance issue having employees drive so far to CP. You ALL know where THIS chick would rather go!! My company does however offer discount tiks to all the amusement parks, and Raptor Jo will again "push" this year for our company outing at CP. But thanks to OTT adding figures I am really po'd my company is so (*&^$%#$^ cheap, we are not even talking about a whole park buyout but just our company outing! I KNOW we make BILLIONS more than Longeberger, and I KNOW a whole park buyout could be financially feaseable!

The only difference from this year and last year is on the schedule is.

1. The first weekdays are cut out, which makes sense since there was 5 people in the park that time last year. I thought they were cry when I heard the weren't going to open the park weekly till mid/late may. This seems more in accordance with the 2000 schedule were the park opened weekly the 2nd week and the 1st week it was just open weekends (well AAA day and such).

2. The 2nd to last week in August the park is open till 10 instead of 8. Makes sense since those days drew a decent amount of people.

3. Coastermaina would fall on a 10pm closing. I wonder if they are thinking about holding it on the 31st instead of the 7th.

Also did anyone else notice the gate opening times? 10AM on less crowded days and 9:30AM on other days.

I Sincerley hope that my teacher likes coasters too cp_bound!
