To all multi-year employee/masochists. I have a question regarding the second year of work versus the first. Namely being, if you enjoyed your first year and are eagerly anticipating your second year, can you expect a letdown? I am aware that placing high expectations on anything is tantamount to setting yourself up for abysmal failure, but I can't help but get a little excited, especially after the hell I have been through this quarter with academics, extracurriculars, and constant traveling. Should I be pessimistic again, or will I be o.k. assuming that my second summer will be as great as the first? Has anyone else experienced a letdown?
Well it depends, it can be good or bad. I think that it is a little easier the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time around because you have a feel for what is going on, how things are done, etc. I have never had a letdown in the 4 years I spent there. It always seemed to get better and more exciting every year.

Well, here's how it went for me, Geminazi (btw can't wait for you to get here!!).
I had expectations for last year, my second year, and well let's just say it wasn't quite met in the beginning of the season. Bottom line is you will know more people and be more comfortable with your job, but you will STILL have to meet a bunch of new people and stuff, and form new impressions of people you already knew, sometimes. Overall, my second year was not as good as the end of my first, but this year so far has almost been better than both of them. So even if it sucks at first, give it time.
